The motor itself is already waterproof. There are a few different ways to waterproof the esc. Do a YouTube search on how to waterproof a esc and a few should pop up.

Castle products are not waterproof. if you attempt to waterproof it with silicone it will void your warranty.

Would it be better to have it somewhat waterproof with a void warranty or to have it go out due to water? What do they charge to repair a water damaged ESC?

Run an outerwears type cover over your electronics

Keep it out of water, its a car not a boat

you would have to look into that, i am not sure off the top of my head. like crusey said, its a car not a boat. if your going to have a castle product keep the warranty because its not worth buying a whole new one for 200 again, when you can spend half of that or less on the warranty.

outerwears does not have a 100% waterproof guaruntee, dust, water, and other small things have gotten into mine. you will have to gear it down due to heat issues with the 2400

I have waterproofed a sidewinder, MMM, MMP, and never had a problem, also I run MMP-2400 with jconcepts overtray with no heat issues, I donīt think you have to gear it down with outerwears.

What tires do you run? My front beadlocks hold the tires just fine.

Nah, My friend drove his pede MMp-2400 on snow with no cover, no protection, and still running good, I have run mine through small puddles, and nothing happened, they are splash ressistant.

I know its not a boat, I personally love to run in the snow and rain. I run an outerwear & it does pretty well in the rain. There have been times I run through the snow and it will get snow packed under the body. The heat from the motor and esc will melt the snow a bit. When I pull the outerwear off the esc is damp. I want to know the ratio of those who choose to make them more resistant of water compared to those who dont..
