    I'm really curious as to how much they will be going for at the chop shops. Also if & when it will be for sale at a HS like Tower. I'm betting retail $500+. I'd like to pay less though. You have one for sell?? LOL

    I wish I had one. I was thinking around the same price as you. I think Traxxas lists the motor alone on it's price sheet for $300.

    A 1717 motor goes for 150-200 bucks. I'm not paying more for the Traxxas one.

    ESC remains to be seen.

    I think the ESC is gonna be pretty high. A decent price on a 1/8 Mamba Monster is between $130-150, so I'm sure this new ESC will be at least $250.

    200 Is the most I would pay for the Castle ESC. And the reasons I would pay that over a used MMM, is for the convience of not having to solder my own caps, knowing the Traxxas ESC has the latest fets and it being inclosed in a nice case.

    Your forgetting that this 1717 has changes made to it from the previous 1717 castle put out which is now discontinued .

    I did not forget that Castle did a tweak to the rotor for Traxxas. Kinda the same tweak Hacker did for the Emaxx C50-Max motor vs the regular C50-L motors. The 1717 can still be found, so it's not that rare.

    look under the traxxas product page at tower under brushless systems and its listed for 234.99 just the motor though not esc stock #LXBXTE

    the esc is just the newest version of the mmm it is not the 1/5 scale esc posted above.

    yes its the MMM with an external cap bank as far as i can tell by pictures.
