Painted bodies

Do most bodies come clear or can you buy them pre painted the way they are say for instance the concepts body:

0064 - Illuzion – Slash, Slash 4x4, SC10 & Ultima SC -Manta body

I like this body, but I don't want to have to paint it.

To my knowledge you can only get bodies from an rc manufacturer that are pre-painted. I could be wrong.

Painting the body is not hard it just takes time. The thing about pre-painted bodies is that your friends have the same one. Per-painted body go for over 100.00 on ebay good luck

My LHS has painted bodies for $40 ~ $60. One of their employees does the painting. I may go that route in the short term but plan on taking on a paint job myself in the spring. I just need to get over the intimidation of the whole process.

Just buy a body you plan to beat up. blue painters tape, body reamer, lexan scissors, and paint. have fun

Whats the best kind of paint to use?

Make sure to use proper paint! Run of the mill spray paint will not cut it, trust me. I ran out of funds and had to use what I had on hand. It is one **** of a 20 footer though. Also google around and you can find some nice precut paint masks for cheap (4-6 bucks). You will be happier doing the job yourself no matter how it comes out! +1 for self accomplishment.

What are you guys talking about? Most if not all body manufacturers' bodies come clear. With the exception of the traxxas prographix bodies, which you could consider partially painted really.

I used pactra paint on all my bodies and they come out fine.

I dont think I will ever paint my own body, I will just buy the clear one and leave it clear.
