How loud is the engine?

Is the engine of a Slayer Pro 4x4 loud? There are triplets next door and if they wake up they start shriking. Might get one, so need to know the loudness.

Not extremely loud, but loud enough to wake up little kids (I have a little experience )
But you can always go somewhere else to run it if it's too loud.

Weedeater would be a good comparison. Or leaf blower.
Anytime I run mine my kids wake up from their naps even if I run in the front of the house. Then one of them says: "Daddy, I heard your truck. It's loud." It's a stock 3.3 with stock pipe.

I wouldn't necessarily compare it to a weed eater or leaf blower. The weed eater and leaf blower I have are much louder than my nitro truck. It's the frequency that makes it seem loud. It's a higher pitched sound.

What is really loud though is my HPI baja 5b with the tuned pipe on it. Either truck though my neighbors hear it and they are at least a couple of hundred feet away on either side. Just don't run it at obnoxious hours and you shouldn't have any problems. Do your running in the middle of the day.

Haha good one, well I was actually running my Slayer a couple of days ago, and your question about the noise level of the engine came across my mind. So I focused on the sound and realized these engines are not really all that loud, they tend to make a sound kinda like a hornet or honey bee, when spinning at high rpms. But this sound is not overpowering, and at low speeds it's even less noticeable. Funny, you really made me slow down and take note of what a nitro engine sounded like

its a very high pitch sound which doesnt travel as far as a lower pitch.. the good thing about people hearing it is that you might find another r/c showing up..thats always nice.
