I'd like to keep my reverse so I'm just wondering if Traxxas makes a 3 channel version?

Never mind I've found that these parts will work with no reverse.

they have a 2ch, 3ch link and 4ch link 3ch came on nitro trucks with reverse and electric 2 speed fwd/rev
4ch only came on summit I think if i'm not mistaken they all have the 5ch rx unit if they are link type.
there is a 5ch rx non link so be carfull.
if going traxxas brand I would just start putting away a little cash every week and before long you be amaized $$$
save up for the TQI with feed back and dock that is the way to go as infinit tuability easy of use and feedback from your unit while rolling down the road.
    But thats just my .02c

Traxxas does make a 3-channel Link version that is found on the newest 5309 Revo. I have installed the tx/rx into my Revo (5308) with no issues.

Thanx G, you don't happen to know the part # do you?
All I could find was the 4 channel tx and since my Pede has the link already I just thought I'd like to convert my revo too so I only need one controller when I take out both of them.

If I recall my tx is 2238 or 2239 but I will have to take a look. No matter what the rx is the same.

Do you still have reverse and Opti-Drive because I've read that sometimes it don't work so good?

I ditched the optidrive because it wasnt working but I do still have reverse, to help with the problem or hitting reverse while goin forward i just took a paper clip and stick it in the little slot behind the reverse channle switch on the control. If i need reverse i just pop out the clip then put it back when done.

Check what out? What was the question? If you still haven't decided which 2.4 gHz, RX/TX to get, there are some out there for around 50 bones that work well.

This is what I have decided.

    -2218x 2.4 receiver
    -5324x Battery/Receiver box
    -3035 Wiring harness
    -1726 Antenna tube
    -5394x FOC Kit
    -5383 Close ratio gears

I'll make a vid when the parts come in.

Don't forget there are two optidrive types Link and non-link I found out the hard way with my rig when I ordered My fleebay R&R complete trans kit came with all parts from driveshafts to electronics and the new 2.4 link opti would not work on my non-link 3ch analog poped old one back in and presto working again

Turns out that this was probably one of the best things I did to my revo. Not sure why but my rx bat. time has almost trippled, thinking the 2.4 rx draws less power and not to mention getting rid of the pesky OD unit.

    2209- 2 channel tx, 5 channel rx
    5394x- Forward Only

Think I'll do the same to the revo I just bought also, just the 2218x rx of course.
