2075 stock on the Slash 4x4? That's cool, keeps the cost even lower lol.

I used to run them till they broke, then I started replacing with a Hitec 645mg and now the savox 1258tg.
How hard is the slash 4x4 on the steering servo?

If you're going to be using 2s mostly, I would definitely go for the 3800kV motor instead of the 2400kV. I think you'll enjoy the extra rpms that the 3800kV offers on 8.4 volts. The 2400kV motor will be noticably slower on the same voltage (2s). The 2400kV motor is more suited for the extra voltage that 3s and 4s lipos offer. So unless you're going to use 3s or 4s exclusively, the 3800kV is the one you want if you want to get any kind of speed out of a 2s lipo. If you like going slow with no heat issues, then the 2400kV motor will do better for you. I hope those options help you to make your choice.

    Nice. reassuring for sure.

I think i will be making a trip to the hobby shop tomorrow.

I have a 3800kv motor here already. Was thinking of picking up the MMP 2400kv combo to have the option of swapping back and forth. Well that and the LHS doesnt show stock on just the MMP esc lol.

Ok so i have a 3800kv here. If i want to run 2s primarily, with the occasional 3s run. Which is the better choice?
    3800kv or 2400kv

Speed is nice but i don't need this thing doing 50mph+ all the time. Im thinking buy the 2400kv combo just because and run it with the 3800kv motor. That way if i decide against all my better judgement to on road convert yet ANOTHER vehicle i can drop to the 2400kv and run 3s? Or do i have it all backwards.

I have a question in terms of the center diff. can it be filled differently or even locked to create equal AWD? or does the slipper clutch "lock" the f/r output.

Im just thinking about both times i tried a center diff in both my ERBE and MERV and they were problematic.

What is the ideal diff fluid set up F/R for the 4x4?

If you run more than 2s in your truck, don't run the center diff! It WILL melt! The slipper works fine

does the slipper lock output front and rear? same torque to the front as the rear?

If you want to go slow (30+ mph) and be able to go through the "rough stuff" with really low temps...get the 2400kV. If you want to go a little faster (40+), or if you do any parking lot street bashing...use your 3800kV. If you plan on getting a 3s lipo down the road, the 2400kV sounds like it may be more suited for you. You might run into some heat issues on the 3800kV with 3s according to gearing. It all depends on what YOU will be doing with your r/c. It's really a compromise.

Well i have both so i can swap back and forth and play with gearing as needed. 19/52 right now on the 3800kv due to availability. more options on the way. will be pushed by a 5000mah 50c 2s. should be ok?

The center shaft i took out of the old one had a wad of tape wrapped around it at the front hole. is that the most common fix to stop debris from slipping in the front drive shaft hole? Or is there a better method?

If you want to use 2s the 3800 has more low end. 3 or 4s is all about 2400.

Well that was a productive day. Didn't replace ALL the new parts i bought. But got the new chassis dyed black and replaced the A-arms.
Just got it all put together, now i need to find my soldering iron... had the LHS do my last battery connector cause i couldn't find the darn thing, they were so busy today they didn't have time to pop one on there for me.

Still need to grab a servo, they didn't have a 2075 in stock and that's what i went there to get. Don't feel like dropping my spare 9755tg in here i'll save that for the 1/8 stuff.

And i also realized today i have WAY too many unpainted bodies in my shop right now...

Soldering iron has gone AWOL, so i'll have to wait a bit to drive this. Other than that im ready to rock. Mechanically wise anyways. While i was in picking up the servo today i saw the upgrade motor mount so i grabbed it too. bling if nothing else. But oh my does it fit tight. makes me wonder if i have something in wrong. Or is the thick mount #6890X a really tight squeeze at the best of times?

So i was looking at the script asylum speed calculator based on what i have and 20/50 gearing as recommended earlier. 22.5mph doesn't sound right. Granted that based on 2s lipo and 1/8 buggy bad-lands. But really? 22.5mph? Doesn't the Slash 4x4 advertise 30+ on nimh stock out of the box? lol

Not to mention on the skill and speed chart 19/54 on 2s lipo (4000mah) indicates 40+ but on the same calculator that's under 20...

    i confuzzed. lol

    Thanks

Just need to figure out where i should be for gearing. I'm getting such conflicting results.

    I think i'll just /facepalm myself now.

i had the part in red set as traxxas slash/stampede/rustler not center as it should be.
61 mph on the calc is more like it.

Got some parts in yesterday, replaced the front differential and drive shafts and bearings. Might get around to the rear tonight.

Now a new question is coming up. In the Revo there is a very limited amount of lube/grease on the differentials... why is the slash 4x4 so gummed up in the differential housings? the 2 new diffs i got from ebay were so coated i thought they were leaking till i popped the front diff housing and saw the same on my PE...

Slash build got delayed a bit, had to steal the servo from it after i found out the "working" used 7955tg i bought was no darn good. not happy about that.

And of course the LHS is our of the 2075's. Oh well gives me some time to get my new radio too. The Dx3.0 just doesn't cut it when you have 7 vehicles.

But aside from the servo and paint on the Manta im ready to rock with the sl4sh PE now.

One question though, how low can i realistically go on fluid weight on the shocks on this thing. im really worried that it is still too stiff on 35wt. it just doesn't sag down at all. im tempted to try the 20wt i have here. i really want to think that the D8 shocks are too much for the slash lol

Well i think without ever powering the slash up it is falling victim to me having too many vehicles. With the E-Slayer build getting underway last night i think im going to end up selling the slash.
