Hi,

Here is a video that shows in detail how to mount the tires on the rims. How to prepare foams. What to watch. This is a model of a tire and wheel often recommended on the Summit forum, so it was an opportunity to offer a tutorial for those who need it (myself included, I sought an online, I found but not with these rims or tires togeteher, so I found it useful to make one for the community).



Tires reference: [PROLINE Trencher 3.8" (40 Series) All Terrain Tires] PL1160
Rims reference: [AXIAL Oversize NARROW Rockster Bead Lock] AX8071 (black), AX8072 (black chrome), AX8070 (white) and AX8073 (silver chrome)

I have to say I prefer the taller narrower ones. Looks like they have way more tread, and the added ride height I like more. The other ones look fat, almost chunky

I have the original trenchers like them a lot,Having a few different sets is not a bad thing
I also have a set of moab xl's on cheyenne beadlocks and rc4wd rock crushers on axial rocksters.

Couple things... So I have a set of the Trencher Tires and I have been mouting them on the Axial 8 Hole Rims. and it is going well. One person told me to trim the bead down, so I have been and While it is a time intensive process, it seems to make the beads seat much better. Also the tires come accros much wider if you install them on the regular 8hole rim instead of the narrow ones you pictured.

i think the "x" give more stability in sideslopes,i put some 40 moabs on mine and rollover in sideslopes ten times more than with the stock wider tread. maybe i am a bad driver!lol!

Just a word of advise before you go out and spend the money on the trencher axail combo.

This combo would be great of a stock summit but for a brushless summit I found this combo to be very unbalanced and shakey.

Perhaps installing tires onto rims that are not designed for them throws them far out in balance.

that was my case anyways.......perhaps i have a bad set of tires.......or trimming the foam unbalanced but if i were to try it again.......i would not trim the foams if possible and see if the result was better.

Any large tire will be unbalanced stock. Its not the rims, foams or operators fault. Just a fact with large tires going at speed.

And does anyone happen to have a picture comparing the offset of the axial in comparison to to stock wheels I bought the trenchers premounted on the tech 5 wheels and love the tires but hate the offset!!!

I'm actually in talks with someone to acquire their axial narrows with mud slingers already on them, wants $120. But I think I`ll get them down to $80 If I can hold out lol

The offset on the narrow rims is a half inch just like the wide rims and the stock canyons. The wide beadlocks rub on the a-arms though.

I'm sorry you feel that way NA. I had been looking at buying them since they were posted at the end of February but decide to buy a MERV first and then get the rims with Mudslingers that he was offering right after.

And by the way, I may live in Quebec but I am an Anglophone.
