    Question What is the best lipo for my e revo bl edition

    Im wondering what the best lipo battery is for my e revo. I want a 3s and as high or higher than 25c and 3000mah. I want a battery that is no more than $65.00 a piece and it needs to be able to fit in the e revo. I would prefer not to have to modify the battery tray. I dont want a $100.00 battery pack either because I dont want to spend that much on batterys.

    This is a good start of available batts, just don't buy no name Ebay batts.

    MY BATTS:
    2S 8000 x 28C = 224,000 divide 1000 = 224 amps
    2s 9000 x 28c = 252,000 divide 1000 = 252 amps
    3S 5200 x 40C = 208,000 divide 1000 = 208 amps
    2s 4700 x 25c = 117,500 divide 1000 = 117.5 amps
    ^Requires proper gearing^

    mAh x C Rating divide 1000 = amps

    The more amps the better / minimun of 120 amps.

    Higher the mAh the longer the runtime.
    For brushless systems 8000 mAh about 45 min & a 5000 mAh about 30 min.
    Times are longer for brushed systems.

    Batts in series double the voltage:
    2x 2s 20c 5000mah = 4s 20c 5000mah

    Batts in parrallel double the mAh capacity:
    2x 2s 20c 5000mah = 2s 20c 10,000mah.

    Hot motor + cool esc = under geared.
    Cool motor + hot esc = over geared
    Everything warm just right..

    Motor = 180*F maximum, ideally 140-160*F
    Esc = same pretty much- fan comes on at 150*F
    Lipo’s = 140*F max, ideally 100-120*F

    The wires exit out the sides, so a notch in the battery door is required, but they fit perfectly.

    60 amps would get her done alright in about 10 minutes. You'll need a 750w charger, supply and jumper cables for charge leads.

    There really is no need to push your cells to their limits, surely life isn't that chaotic?

    A nice steady 5 or 6 amps will be sufficient and in balance mode will take about 40 minutes, that's why I run 2 chargers.

    Im just going to talk to the people at my lhs and see if they can explain it better to me. I dont really understand the thing about the rates and other things I used to drive nitro and didnt have to worry about all of this and im trying to learn all that I can. Also I dont really see why u need a power supply besides if you cant reach an outlet. My charger just plugs into the wall though.

    charge 1 amp for every 1000 mAh is 1c

    5000 mAh batt
    example 5000 mAh = 5 amps @ 1c
    example 5000 mAh = 10 amps @ 2c

    8000 mAh batt
    example 8000 mAh = 8 amps @ 1c
    exapmle 8000 mAh = 16 amps @ 2c

    Im probably going to get the turnagy ******** 5000 mAh 45c 90c burst 3s and it can handle a 10c charge rate. So would this battery take 50 amps to charge?

    It doesn't have to have 50amps, you can charge at 5 amp, that's 1c. That will take about 40 minutes, 2c will be 10amp, that will take about 20 minutes and so on.

    Your saying:

    1c=5amps
    2c=10amps
    3c=15amps
    4c=20amps
    5c=25amps
    6c=30amps
    7c=35amps
    8c=40amps
    9c=45amps
    10c=50amps

    That's right, but on a 5000 mah pack. If its a 4000 mah pack then the Maths is different.

    1c is 4amp
    2c is 8amp
    3c is 12amp and so on

    The c value is changed for the different sized cells. On a 2200 pack:

    1c is 2.2 amp
    2c is 4.4 amp.

    Following now?

    In addition, amps are pushed into the battery when charging and not drawn into. Not many (if any) chargers have 50a capability. My accucel charger maxes out at 6 amp. That's not a problem as I run 2 chargers so can charge 2 sets of lipos in about 40 minutes.

    Ya like you take off the zeros 5000 mah take off the zeros and its 1c=5amp 2200 mah take off the zeros its 1c=2.2 mah so 8000 mah would be 1c=8amps. I think I got it now.

    Is it bad for a lipo to charge at a high c rate like a 3s lipo says it can handle 10c charge rate but is that bad charging it that rapidly.

    It's not "bad" but it does possibly reduce the longevity of the battery.

    You will want to consider charging your batteries on the balance setting. 1c or 2c max rate for balance charge.

    What charger are you going to use to charge, say a 5000 mmAh @ 10C? And YES it is bad to charge that fast jmho..if you could...

    This is the most powerfull charger that I know of, unless I am missing something.
    Powerlab 8 40 amps

    All the charger you will ever need, the PowerLab 8 has the power and versatility to handle just about any situation you can present it.
