New Stampede Owner needs advice
I am new to the forum and the hobby. I bought my first truck, the 4X4 Stampede # 6708. I love it so far and have a few questions.
It came with the 3000Mah. I also bought a 5000Mah (Venom) and a Traxxas EZ peak Charger. What kind of run-time should I be getting out of these? As far as a Lipo, can I use the same charger for it or will a Lipo need a separate charger? Besides the higher speed shown on the box will a Lipo have a greater run-time? What size should I buy for my first Lipo?
The additional one came in the box. Will changing this make it better or worse for rough terrain?
Took it out in some wet conditions yesterday and had a blast. After coming back in I dried everything I could reach with a towel and tried to get all of the grass and mud off. Do I need to do anything additional? I also see water/moisture inside the drive shaft. Is this ok?
The book made reference to removing the tires. Is this as simple as removing the nuts and sliding them off?

For cleaning I usually give it a good shake to get most of the water off and let it dry. When it's dry I use a stiff bristled paint brush to clean the rest off.
Tires - just use the included wrench to pull the wheel nut and the tires come off.
Pinion - use the smaller number of teeth for offroad use. The larger number of teeth is for onroad and speed runs. If you use that offroad you risk a chance of overheating the motor/esc.
Battery - I get about 30 minutes of run time out of a 5000Mah. I was running a 7 cell NiMH and then switched to a LiPO for more punch (after motor upgrade). I'm not sure about that charger but you may want to check the user manual to see if it supports LiPO charging and balancing.
I spray dregreaser all over the truck, and then clean it under the sink with a brush, after that I use compressed air.
Is the water in the drive shaft OK?

if you wat a mean battery gens ace is the way to role i have 3 500 40 constent 80 burst 35 bucks at hobby partz .com havent failed me yet i wouldent ever put that 17 tooth on it with lipo i dont no why they even include it...its live giving you an alternitive way to blow your truck up quick i would run a 10 to 12 tooth pinoin on motor and a 52 to 54 spur gear the more upgrades like heavy tires and gen 3 slip unit watch temps of the velenion its junk need a lower kv before you start upgrading or...just gear it a low as possible
