    flashing red light on reciever?

I recently bought a used summit vxl brushless from a friend of mine. he said it needed a new motor so I replaced the veleniun motor with a new one. when I got it in and hooked it all back up it worked for about a second then it just stopped. the light on the esc is solid green but the receiver light is flashing red. I tried rebinding them but the light on the controller goes from flashing red to solid green but the light on the reciever continues to flash red. I am not getting any throttle or steering. please help!

I wonder if it got wet...
I know you bought it second hand, but I think Traxxas support will still help you diagnose this issue.

Unless someone here has a better idea???

well I got the problem fixed. called support last night and when I mentioned that at first I was getting a fast red and green flashing light on the reciever they said my steering servo is bad, sounds like a pretty common problem in those. Anyways, they are sending me a new one for free.

    Now that is service!!
I wonder if the motor was ever bad?
Could it have been the servo all along??

I would start looking for an upgrade if I were you...
I chose the ******* 390 out of the following line up of servos that fit:

As a matter of fact the motor was still good, Oh well. was thinking of putting it in my sons rustler xl5, does anyone know if that 1/16 scale motor will work in a 1/10 scale car if I change the esc?

The motor is quite strong... I don't think it would hurt it.
Will it bolt up to your Rustler?
I would feed it with a 1/10 ESC, as the 1/16 ESC has a hard time feeding that motor in stock form.
Just be sure to watch your temps so you don't cook the magnets off.
