    revo 3.3 to e-revo conversion

I know this has been ask many many times so pls dont burn me, lol. I want to know all the things that I needed to complete the conversion. I just order the chassis and center axle so far. Im doing this conversion due to noise in the neighborhood and I have to have a truck that i can run and dont have to drive to a remote area to have fun.

Just something to keep in mind.

The nitro versions of the Revo do not come with the heavy duty differentials that their electric counterparts are equipped with.

I would just run the stock diffs until something happens then upgrade from there.

Ive seen 2.5 diffs hold up to MMM power. shim your diffs properly and its all about how your driving it as well, hows your slipper adjusted and your gearing.. if you already have the diffs and want to save a few bucks. pull them apart, clean, inspect them, regrease them and shim them if they have a lot of play you will be just fine

I just order this parts off on ebay to make it into a brushless diff

I'm just hoping this is all I need besides the fluid and what fluid wt. would be suitable cause the heaviest wt. i have is 50k.

I open up my diff on my revo 3.3 to prep it and get it ready to be a e-revo spec conversion, but I find out that no fluid left in. what could have happen? is 50k wt. enough for it? or do i have to go higher?

That oil will work. You need a tranny, motor mount, and rx box too.

this parts showed up in the mail, now all i have to do is assemble it. i'm going to try 50k diff oil f/r and see how it'll act. i'm also waiting for the tranny and motor mount. speaking of tranny, does it have a differencial style output gear?

yeah, I ask about it on erbe forum and it seems to me like its only good for track as it give you better handling on cornering.

I think it's good for backflip control, and also can be beneficial for the rear diff. Even with thick fluid in it you're still gonna have alot of shock load transferring to front wheelspin. Definitely good for cornering.

Get the Revo platinum edition shell, and the E-Revo decal sheet. That will make it look like an E-Revo, and it'll fit. Also, that doesn't seem like a conversion, it looks like you bought parts for an E-Revo, and put them together. You could of bought an E-Revo, and sold your Revo, (but biulding it yourself is so much more fun!).

Yeah, I could have just buy a roller but, I like to build it, all of my RC's (3 maxx & revo 3.3) are built from scratch, its much fun that way, to me that is.

Totally jealous!! I had a Revo3.3 and thought about doing this, but instead sold it and bought a Merv. Now I wish I had it back to do all over again Great job! What was the conversion cost if you don't mind my asking?

I bought it off ebay from a seller jennyrc for $279. shipped. I'm not really sure about the colors of the motors but, I think/assume the green ones are the older version while the black ones are the latest one.

i can tell you what the colors mean,
the green one's are the one's castle makes for them selves and sells like on their site,
now the black ones are the ones traxxas has castle make for them and traxxas sells with the E Revo Brushless Edition as you notice in the products page under E revo Brushless the motor is black, its the same thing as the castle just different can color is all, same thing applies to the E Maxx Brushless. the black can MMM and esc can be sold and bought here on the forum in market place while the green motor cant along with the esc. hope this helps. nice MMM and for 279 great.

at first I was gonna do the tekno conversion but, I find it cheaper this route. lets just say, the price of tekno conversion was a bit more than buying the e-revo chassis, trans, and other parts in between, lol. I still have to invest a good set of lipo batts and charger. so far all in all i spent a little over$400
