I know not all people have the option, but I honestly buy 90% of my stuff from my LHS. I do buy my batteries online and a couple of other things, but for my replacement parts and things I break, my LHS's prices are comparable or better then online pricing, without the wait.

They have brough everything up. They do this every year after thanksgiving. Come January they will go back down, Tower's rock bottom prices are usually in Febuary. I buy alot, and I mean alot from Tower. I think those prices are higher than they normally raise them in December though. I think its due to the discount for the general public on the home page allong with free shipping on those trucks.

How about this though. I got an email today for their best sellers. The slash 4x4 was listed in there at $410. clicked on the link and it went to the $425 price.

Tower has unreliable and often mediocre prices. They compensate by sometimes offering coupons and free shipping on orders over $xxx; it's not like UPS doesn't charge Tower - if they can afford to cover shipping, they can afford to offer product at a lower price. It's just annoying to mess around with coupons.

Don't get me wrong - I've used Tower for years, but it's not the best deal around 100% of the time. Look at Stormer hobbies. I recently had a positive experience getting my E-Maxx there.

I totally agree with yall! Its basically a sales gimmick! Give you a price then offer you coupons to make it look better! Ive seen lots of places that do that. But at the same time they have a smooth customer experience and ship fast. Sometimes you pay for good service. I purchased a Parma GraveDigger lid from them, came in dinged up, called them, they shipped me a new one quckly and told me to keep the bad one. Can't argue with service like that.

I was think about picking up a slash. Noticed today the price went from $339 to $349.. and I swear it was $329.00 not that long ago. Plus tower had $60 off 300. But not that's down to $50 now. Its still cheaper then most places. But what the heck tower. Going to wait this one out.

I was looking around on Tower site today at work and noticed that I had put a Slash VXL in my cart a few weeks ago. I noticed the price was $10 cheaper then the current price. listed.. so I thought what the heck. And place the order ( $289.99) Funny the cart price stayed in my cart for well over a week and didn't update.
