    My new custom painted body

Thanks to Zielke Racing. I haven't received it yet, but I'll post up more pics of it on the truck once I get it.

is it a real traxxas shell or a knock off?

there are a lot of ebay companies that sell the knock off bodies painted but their quality is horrible compared to the stock traxxas body

$69 + shipping for the custom paint job and the body.

Yeah, I won't buy another custom body off ebay, simply because of my experience with the first (and only) one I got. First time running it, first flip onto the lid (and we're talking an unintentional "jump" of only a few INCHES of air, landing on the pavement), and that thing literally SHATTERED the paint job, and broke the plastic enough to make it dumpster fodder.

    Caveat emptor.

I almost grabbed one of that guys bodies.. but I won a different one on ebay that I also had my eyes on. The prices really aren't to bad when you consider the cost and time you'll put in to it yourself. For these, $20-$30 for a body, + $5 per can, + masking design and tape, x-acto blades., now your already $45 -$50 deep. But for the bigger trucks it runs me about $60-75 in materials so it don't hurt my feelings to spend $100 on a body that is beyond my ability. This is the last one I bought on ebay.... from ADRCracing.com, he sells for $180 witch is way to much but he also puts a few a week on ebay so I got it for $87 shipped. That I can handle lol and the one I looked at from Zielkes was $114.
Adrcracing did this one for me 2 times. I crushed one as a basher, then got a second when I retired my H-Bomb ⅛ REM stampede

    thedreadedend, that looks great.

I originally thought about just doing flat black myself, but after seeing his work, I thought why not just have an awesome paint job from a pro? It's not that expensive. The body by itself is $18. I've been running the stock painted body since I've had the truck and just wanted to change the look.

Pretty close to the same story for me. The new lids are like an attitude, it gives a new feel to the truck for me. When I got my first pro body, I had not tried painting my own yet. I new that the stocker would cost 50 or so and my own job would be the same. I was in the final stages of the most over the top pede I could put together, and it was all top shelf alloy and other hop ups. All I needed was a final touch to make it look as Killa as it was. So I desided on a custom pro job. Then it was a matter of picking one from zielke or Adrcracing. I watched adrc's ebay list for about a month and finally he put one up with my colors so I started bidding. The zielke body would have cost me $114 shipped so I put $120 as a max bid and let the pc do the rest. In the end, it only cost me $87 shipped so I felt real lucky. He has bodies going for $180 in the 1/10 size.
I really like the one you bought, he does a great job with flames. Hope it holds up for ya, although, if you can, pick a different body next time, the aftermarket bodies are 2 times thicker than stock and will take a real good beating lol. Put up some pix when it comes in, I can't wait to see how it looks........ its gonna be AWESOME!!!

Yes. The body posts are there, they're just not sticking out all the way. I use velcro.

No, I just emailed him with what I wanted. He won't have the mini section on his website until January.

Did you have to buy a body then send it in or did you just pay him to get a body and paint it?

Are you actually going to run that body? Or just sit like I do and stare at it aimlessly for hours on end? I couldnt bring myself to run that body on my merv. I would destroy it and I try to take care of mine lol.
