Will it work with an Ipad? I'm asking this because one guy can drive the car and another can check the speed and other things at the same time... It's safer that way... I guess some kind of long cable is needed...

Well in the latest videos from the PRI show, The "dyno' test, They are using the Ipad, with a 30pin ext.cord, but you cant see where exactly its leading to in the dudes hands. I assume the TQi.

Either way, while the XO-1 is most likely not a realistic purchase of mine in the future, Don't get me wrong it is bad to the bone, just not a on-road guy......I'm stoked about the new TQi, Would be sweet to use the telemetry in various vehicles

Plug-In Telemetry Sensors and Expander Module
TQi makes it easy to add telemetry capability to any Traxxas model when you equip the transmitter with the Docking Base and install Traxxas Link on your iOS device. TQi's included 5-channel receiver features ports for Voltage/Temperature and RPM sensors. A third port accepts the Telemetry Expander Module that allows up to 6 additional sensors to be added. There's even a GPS Module for satellite-measured speed (sensors, expander, and GPS module each sold separately). Sensor-ready gear covers or motor mounts custom-fit for your Traxxas vehicle install easily to precisely position the sensors for accurate detection of the "trigger magnets" built into the spur gear or flywheel required for your model. Just install the telemetry components and you're ready to go! The Traxxas Link application automatically detects the sensors installed in the receiver. Go to Telemetry Setup in the Traxxas Link application and touch Sync Now, and TQi automatically detects the sensors installed in the Expander Module. Only Traxxas makes telemetry so easy to install, view, and enjoy.

Telemetry data comes from sensors installed on the model, not the ESC.

The app is pre-loaded with all the parameters for current Traxxas models. So, if you buy a Slash 4X4 and bind it to a TQi with Docking Base and an iOS device, the app is going to say, "That's a Slash 4X4" and automatically load the correct gear ratio, tire diameter, etc., all the specs on the model. If you change the gearing, you go into the app and touch Garage, then Model Setup. Touch the pinion or spur tooth count and a keyboard [pops up to change it. Save, and you're done.

Sorry just getting into all this info today, and after 13 hrs of work am too tired to read links. I just want a trx radio with a screen like my futaba's! Please, yes or no will do.

One more question. Is the I-docking base included when I power up(and in the xo1 box) or do I have to buy that separately also?

The iDevice can adjust almost any of the radio's settings in real-time. They would be "live" adjustments.
The XO-1 (caps!) includes the docking base.
I don't believe the PowerUp details have been made public yet.

Question for the Traxxas folks:

Does the lockout feature interfere with the timing and torque control settings on the ESC itself if the Castle Link is used (and no iDevice is connected)? Meaning, if I set the torque control to X and timing to Y, does the lockout limit them to something like X/2 and Y/2?

Disregard this question. Castle themselves has refused to answer it.

The TQi Insert lists the various part numbers on page 4. The street prices are not set by Traxxas but by the various retailers.

Got the app - looks great. Are there plans to support other motors such as the Castle 2400?

Also will there be any problems with using a Castle esc?

That was the Spartan's original ESC.

I am sure Traxxas will have a good bit of 2.4 tx/rx turned in for power up that is in perfect working order. What do you guys (Traxxas) do with them when they are turned in?

Page 33 of the XO-1 manual shows all of the programmable radio functions. ESC settings are done via Castle Link (PC or field programmer) or by using transmitter to answer Castle set-up prompts as described in Drivers Ed manual.

what controls the programming in the 2 and 4 channel models? on my 2.4 2 channel, i have a full 4 channel menu. On my 2 channel TQI, I only have a 2 channel menu. If I want to add a servo switch to my TQI how do i get the 4 channel menu? The circuit board already has the 3 and 4 channel pins on it, but I cant unlock the menu....please advise

You want to use/modify a 2-channel radio to control 3 channels? I'm not saying it can or cannot be done but it is certainly outside the intended scope of this thread.
The easiest course of action is to get a 3- or 4-channel TQi and use it to control your vehicles.

Just bought one with 5ch to use with 2 Slashes (onroad/offroad) and a Caster Fusion buggy and lap time is the most important feature that I'm looking for.

Go to where itunes downloads the app on your pc/mac usaully C:\Users\"USER NAME"\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Mobile Applications\TraxxasLink 1.0.4.ipa extract it edit pictures from mph to kph and Fahrenheit to Celsius and the numbers accordingly not sure it will work as im still waiting for my Tqi to arrive so i dont know if this will work but who knows also been trying to port the link app to PS Vita but dont know enough would be awesome though.

I took a look here on my iTunes and found everything, but I'm not sure if it will completely solve the problem. The dashboard gauges will surely work since you just converted the numbers but, what about the values recorded by the app? They'll be stored in Imperial units anyway. It's sooooo simple to implement a conversion unit routine that I can't believe Traxxas hasn't done it yet! It should be a primary feature for products sold worldwide...
