    thinking about the 3908 emaxx...

hey guys i want a brushless e-maxx so bad but im gonna have to save up to get it. i already have a slash 4x4 and 3s lipos so batteries arent a problem. i know its almost christmas but usually i start now to think about what im gonna save for for the summer so i want to know if the brushless e maxx is worth the money, is it durable, is it fast and does it require a lot of maintenance after wet or muddy runs like the slash 4x4? also is the transmission durable and are the gears plastic or metal?

    thanks in advance,jman

I would save your money and buy the BL erevo. I own a Mamba BL emaxx and I've had to strength everything with aluminum, and it still doesn't jump or ride the bumps well, plus I strip diffs. The BL mamba to just too much power with 6S for this rig IMHO! My next truck is the Summit. My son has one and it is nearly indestructible, halbeit not as fast.

Aren't the diffs meant for 6s?

It sold out of the box to handle 6S, partly why I bought it, but my experience is the components aren't designed for that kinda power. I own a Revo 3.3 and its just been a whole lot more rugged, although not the power of the BL Mamba I link the Revo driveline better.

E- Maxx is a great truck but the E-Revo is much stronger out of the box. My thought on the EMBE I love it.

    But,

    =

Now I just wish I would of went with the Hybrid Bulk...

That is one big plus for the Maxx is the Hybrid Bulks...

    Manufacturer: FastLane Machine
•This bulk accepts 1/8 scale style diffs (ring gear must be less the 1.500 inches)
    Front Part#: FLM17700
    Rear Part#: FLM18700

E-Revo + E-Maxx body+ wheel/tire combo of your choice = Very capable off road machine that looks great, suspension is far more adjustable, Keep in mind the Summit is built on the E-Revo platform.

E-Revo platform with Maxx body and proline wheels and tires.
Should you get bored you can drop it back down to stock ride height and have a really great road machine.

I have the E-Revo and the EMBE so I am not bashing on either one there both great trucks, but the E-Maxx requires a chunk of cash to make a strong basher. check out youtube on video of each off-road bashing.

i just read the e revo FAQ i read the e maxx FAQ yesterday and it looks like the revo is more durable out of the box.... one question though how are the shocks on both trucks?
