Help me before I go A-LINE of the deep end.

Ok guys please help I'm going crazy. As we all know CHRISTMAS is coming around and my mom always goes shopping and I need to give her what I want in like, uhhhhh, a week! (She goes early.) She said I could have anything I wanted. Anyways I want a new Rc from traxxas since it's my hobby and addiction. It has to be electric (I dont want my neighbors to be hating on me with a nitro.) It also hassss to be waterproof bc I've grown up with mud and snow. I rode my first snowmobile at 6 months old and went to my first dirt oval latemodel race at like 3 weeks old! Its in my blood!!! Anyways I don't know what the heck I want. I currently have the VXL Rustler, all modded out and what not. But its only 2wd. Not really... My cup of tea you could say. I've sort of got it narrowed down to- 1/10 Summit, 1/10 E-Revo Brushed, 4x4 Stampede, 4x4 Slash, 1/16 E-Revo VXL, 1/16 Summit VXL. I ONLY bash. Usually in loose dirt, low streams, and deep mud. Please help me!!! This is driving me crazy its all I think about when I'm in school LOL. I'm sorta leaning towards the Summit 1/10? Due to that its 4wd with locking diffs and I'm getting a go pro camera and would like to start making a video series and stuff with it? Please help I don't know what the poop to get. Thanks!

Why is that? Not being a jerk, just wondering if I'm missing something. I am new to the eletric stuff.

Are you sure you have been good enough for the man in the red suit to come to your house. HAHE. Hard for us to say really, I'm sorta leaning towards the Summit 1/10? I think you answered your own Q&A..

Might be because as he said has to be water resistant..
Would you go flip my truck back over??

Sounds like the 4x4 Stampede will fit all your needs. The Summit would be the best in the snow, but since you're used to the speed of the VXL, you'll like the Stampede's speed more. It has more clearance than the Slash and is all waterproof. sounds like the ticket to me.

Get the summit and be happy if you get bored because of the speed issue then go get a brushless system for the summit, I think with what you have described that the summit would be best all around for you

Wow... those are some seriously expensive christmas presents.

You've got such a varied list of vehicles... what do you want to do with it? If you want it to be FAST and 4X4 you might go with a slash 4X4 and put some bigger MT wheels and body on it. OR a 4X4 Pede... I didn't like either but thats just me.

If you don't mind going slower and want to be able to actually GO anywhere on the planet... go summit. Just understand, the summit is NOT an ERBE... its not meant to be blazing fast and catch HUGE air. If you drive it like its intended you won't have any problems. If you start pushing it harder and trying to go faster, your going to have issues.

If you want a waterproof truck that big you could always look at a brushed revo or maxx.... do a titan 775 upgrade or something and you'd have a waterproof monster.

On the other hand if you want a FAST truck that can go lots of places but will really fly the MERV is a good choice. Small though so its not good in more challenging terrain. The mini summit is, IMO, much like a MERV with bigger tires. Similar capability.

Wow. You sound like a spoiled kid. Go for the 1/10 Summit. Good in mud and youll be offroading with it quite alot by my assumption.

The Slash is perfect for mud, dirt, and light snow. You would love the speeds, and you can enter races wit it.

I think you'd be happy with the 1/10 Summit. Only thing is are you going to have the money to repair a 1/10 scale truck? or are your parents going to cover that too.

Not wanting to start a flame war here or with your neighbors (because everyone has different opinions)
But from my personal experience, nitro is the way to go.
Sure you spend a good bit more money on fuel and other specific things these vehicles need, there will be times too when your frustrated with the truck and want to kick it across the yard Haha.
But to me, people respect this hobby a great deal more when they hear an actual *engine* not motor under the shell.
There are pros and cons to both forms of power, but these pros and cons are different from individual to individual.
One person might like to tinker with engines, and one might like to just flip a switch and drive.
It all comes down to what you are looking for in an RC, do your homework (research on models ) and figure out which type works best for you and your resources.
    Electric-nitro, both are fun

I have always wanted a nitro, in fact the jato was going to be my first real rc, i like to work on engines and tinker with them, but what it all came down to was the $30.00 for ONLY 1 GALLON OF NITRO FUEL! I am only 13, i can't afford a gallon of fuel every month. When my mom said i should look at an electric car i was like no way, but then i realized that they are just as fast, but then again it just doesn't compare to the sound of a nitro engine or the smell of the burnt nitro fuel floating in the air, not to mention how amazing it looks when you see the smoke coming out of the tuned pipe. When i get a job i will for sure get a nitro traxxas vehicle. Either way they are both fun to drive and to tinker with.
