I got a new E Maxx with 8.4v 3000 MAH 7 cell batteries. The manual says max rate should be 4 amps. I seen on YouTube a tutorial for my charger (Thunder AC6) that this guys like to charge a 1 amp for every MAH. So in this case he would charge at a 3 amp rate. But a lot of what I read is guys seem to be staying around 2 amps.
What the deal with the charge rate? I understand that a battery can be damaged if the amp rate is set higher than what the manufacture suggests or recommends.
What are the pros and cons of charging at the max recommended rate?
What are the pros and cons of charging at a rate?
Is there a benefit to using the 1 amp per 1000 MAH method?
I want my batteries to last and give me the most run/fun time so please let me know what you veterans are charging at.
