battery life on a new stampede

I am wanting a 2-Wheel drive Stampede VXL, is the stock battery life about the same, I would be running it on a lot of gravel, grass, jumps, and mud some times. Also if I were to upgrade to a better battery, about what would my battery life be? One other thing, is the stampede pretty durable with all the stock parts, I have seen people in the forums talking about how they are breaking parts. Thanks.

You might more help on the stampede 2wd forum. Yeah, the life on the stock battery would be about the same. You can upgrade to batteries that will last for an hour or more if you want to. It all comes down to the amount of money and space in the battery compartment.

I have an XL-5 and while I do love it, wish I had gotten the VXL. Average runtime on my XL-5 is about 20-25 Minutes on the stock 3000mah NiMh battery, and about 35-40 min on a 4200mah Nimh battery. Now those numbers are from running on a concrete warehouse floor. With the 3000 and 2 of the 4200 batteries I can go out for about 1.5hrs+ of runtime at a time.

As for durability, its one tough truck, The course I run mine on has 2 jumps, landing on concrete, and so far only breakage was from hitting a pallet, broke the rear a arm and I have had tires come unglued, but thats a very easy and simple 5 minute fix. I Def recommend the Stampede truck.

I run a Duratrax 9.6v 5000mah... On a 2wd vxl and my xl5 stampede. I can never run the battery out. I get tired of playing with it...lol run time (too long)
