Stock... from what? It's built out of parts for 8 different vehicles, and over 50 custom bits. I still classify it as a Slash because of the gearbox and the ProTrac parts, which are Slash-specific.

The front bumper looks a little silly to me, maybe some holes or slots would fix it for my liking.

Holes and/or slots = weakness. And this truck is on it's 5th front bumper as it is. Function > form.

Though I will admit, that bumper ain't pretty. I keep trying to fabricate one that looks as good as it works, but have been so far unsuccessful. The best looking bumper was the first iteration, and it failed miserably within a few packs.

I'm running 3S. The weak point in the powertrain is the driveshafts-- I wear a set out every 25 packs or so, even with torque limiting and punch control in full effect. The gearbox itself can handle it no problem.

I found a shaft I'm gonna try, it's from RC4WD.. Runnin' 3S, may try MM SCT on 4S if the tranny can handle it...

Try using T-Maxx 2.5 driveshafts instead of the Slash 4X4 driveshafts. They are bigger and stronger. Use the Trans output yoke from the T-Maxx 2.5 designed for a 5MM shaft to mate from the trans to the driveshaft. Use ProLine ProTrac hubs with 6X11 bearings and E-Revo 17MM hub adapters on the 6MM axles. This should last you a while (works for me: about 15 packs through this setup I just build and zero wear). You may need to tweak the trans outputs to get them to fit (I had to) and if you can. convert the ProTrac hubs to 6X12 bearings (I did mine, but outside only - inside still has 6X11).

    Very nice car BTW!

Is there any offset to the REVO 17mm adapters? In the pics I can find, they look like buggy adapters, with no offset-- I don't want to tuck my rear wheels in 5/16" on each side if I can help it. But the T-Maxx axle thing looks brilliant. I'll probably try it with the HPI 6x11x4 bearings at first, just as soon as I can figure out a 17mm solution. Modding the shafts themselves will be no problem. Gotta find an easy (preferably bolt-on) 17mm solution before I start buying parts.

The bumper is a terrible looking, but wholly effective mish-mash of parts-- the lower skid section of an RPM front bumper for Slash, the "shock absorber" section of the Slash OEM front bumper, and a bunch of hand-bent, hand-shaped .236" ABS sheeting. The bumper weighs an unfortunate 5oz total, but I have not broken one single part since I put it on the truck.
