    Lightbulb t maxx with 3.3 trx spur questions.

    ok so im new to the site i have a t-maxx with a 3.3 engine on the 2.5 chassis, i have burned through 1 plastic spur gear then changed to a rrp steel spur gear only to grind my clutch bell to nothing... i bought a new clutchbell but what can i do to make sure this doesnt happen again. also does anyone know the stock setting for the trx 3.3 because im having tuning issues but dont know how to get the lsn and idle screw to stock i know hsn is 4 turns out. can anyone help?

    oh yeah and when i finally get it to shift gears the back end wiggles like a happy dog..

    You can either purchase a hardened steel clutch bell or go back to the plastic spur gear.

    HSN 4 turns out.
    LSN flush with the end of the barrel.
    Idle gap .7 to 1mm.

    what about the wiggle issue? after i get it to work right the back end goes crazy and i usually flip it....

    Make sure you got a good mesh between the spur and bell...and you say when it shifts into second it wiggles like a dogs tail.mmm ur tires glued onto rim..Tires on straight..Nothing broken in the *** end..

    This is the first generation spur gear that came with 1.5 and 2.5 trucks.

    This is the new style spur gear that will work with the first generation clutch bell and new style 3 shoe slipper clutch. The picture doesn't show it but on the back it should have 0.8 along with the number of teeth.

    Now this spur gear I believe came on Revo 3.3s. They will fit on the T-Maxx as long as you put the matching clutch bell on your engine.

    I don't think the clutch bells have markings on them, so you just have to see have they fit each other. The teeth should go all the way in and bottom out with each other. Another way to tell is the 0.8 pitch gears are pointer and the 1.0 pitch the teeth are flat on the ends.

    If you can post some pictures and give us some history of the engines.

    wow thanks for the info that makes alot of sense i need to order hardened clutch bells how do i add a picture to the threads so i can show my mismatch maxx off!
