    Traxxas flipping over too often

    Help.....

My erevo keeps on flipping over and turn turtle.
What would be the solution to solve this annoying problem.
I have black springs at rear and tan springs at the front.
Circuit is made up of artificial grass.
It seems that the wheels have too much traction and the it tends to dig in and flip it over.
I was hoping that I could use oversteering to "drift" accross but it just flip over....

    Also I have another problem,
The meshing between the pinion gear and the spur gear will always mesh together.
I have to adjust the meshing almost every time after each battary pack.
No matter how much I tighten the screw, It will always comes together.....

Can anyone help me with this two issues...?

    Many thanks in advance .....

if you have the 2.4ghz you can use some sub trim on the steering and make it less sensitive, that's what I have on mine, for the screw a drop of blue loctite might help.

    loctite does not help
It seems that the screw slide along the slot hole and cause it to mesh up.
Do you think it'll help if I loosen the slipper cluch alittle?
My circuit have 5 small jumps (3 inches high)

if slipper cluch helps, how do you adjust it?

I don't think the slipper ajust have to do with it, maybe the motor mount hole is stripped and the screw won't adjust properly, to adjust the slipper you have to lock the shaft on the thranny (the oposite side to the slipper),and turn clockwise the nut to tighteen it up, or counterclockwise to loose it from 1/4 to 3/4 of a turn.

Thanks for the super fast responce,
How do I know that the slipper clutch is at the correct setting?

the easy way is tighteen it up all the way in, and then loose the desire amount, I run 1/4 loose and think it is what most people run, if you got it too loose it will cause poor acceleration, and a high pitch sound also you can burn it.

Artificial grass has toooo much traction for a rc car with sooo much suspension = major body roll. The best way to reduce flipping is lowering the ride height so it can't body roll so much or lessen the grip between tyre and surface. or of course go slower around corners.

quick question. Do you take off your receiver to adjust the clutch? I have the slash and I cant adjust the clutch just by removing the receiver box like the manual say.

For the motor shifting around, if you could either find a washer the size of the stock one with little points like a checkerboard on one side and put that side against the motor mount plate then that should solve the problem shouldn't it? either that or find some way to make a washer like that.

There's a little flat wrench you can use to adjust it.

    Same with mine...
I will install sway bar kit and see if changing diferential oil will make a difference...
I have all stock for now and lipos on the way but with adding more pinch and power by using lipos I am sure this changes will have to be made by must....

For the flipping over, you need wider offset wheels or wheel extenders.

If you don't mind stock a arm materials, they did come out with a longer set of rear a arms for the 1/16 scale cars. They add atleast half an inch to the back ends wheel base.

you can try giveing the wheels some negative camber for the flipping, this will help by the tires not wanting to dig in on the edges instead it will make the tires more level on the ground when cornering hard. It also helps on pavement too, in the dirt it will help you get more grip while cornering cause it put a larger footprint on the ground(more tire surface),and like KILO-DELTA said lower the ride height. Oh and I'm sure if you loosen the sliper clutch a lil bit it should help keep your gear mesh where you want it by lessening the shock to the motor under sudden acceleration and when landing on the throttle from a jump. Hope this helps. PEACE!

Are you running 2 battery packs either series or parallel. I have found that using two batteries really balances the truck
very well and minimizes flips and roll overs. Also try the sway bars.

Angrytetsuo, that motor install is cool. Did you just cut the original motor mount? Instructions would be cool.

will installing a beadlock reduce the chances of flipping over since it have more weight below the chassis?
What would be the pros and cons of installing this wheels?

I don't think that would help keep it from flipping, but it might add a little more unsprung weight to the wheels reducing a little acceleration. If that's not a problem then I don't think they would affect anything unless they made the stance wider. I have seen a rock crawler with so much torque that it would pull the bead out when it got in a bind, that might have been a lil loose too though.

BTW, for original post, get some wheels extenders, they worked great for my 5yo who would always flip his. And sanddown the surface that contacts the motor mount to keep it from slipping.

I've seen so many post about the 1/16 platform rolling over so easy well I figured it out it's because the batteries are mounted above the centerline of the diffs and then the multi gear tranny sticks up over the batteries with the motor mounted on top of that so everything heavy got mounted really high up.
    Little help!)

Lowering the motor won't help nearly as much as limiting the shocks to lower the ride height.

My question about lowering the motor is just because... Not about tipping too much. I beleive the tipping is just natural in these small trucks.
