Just replaced all bearings with Boca Ceramic bearings

I got tired of replacing the Traxxas bearing in the slash 4x4. Hoping these bearings last. I figured $100 spent one time is better than the constant spending to replace shot bearings.

So are you saying that ceramic bearings are that good? If so, I may have to buy some as I am SICK of replacing bearings every 3 battery packs LOL.

OK I've had the bearings on for about a week or so and I'm happy. Probably ran 10 -15 packs and have no problems anymore. Boca ceramics are great bearings

If you look, I have a mod for the motor mount bearing. I have had the same bearing for almost twenty months!

When I updated to the aluminum axle bearing carriers for my slash bought all ceramic from avid. No regrets here. Just bought tekno axles front and rear and waiting for new ceramics from boca.

I had Boca Ceramic Yellow Bearing kit installed on my MT slash:
    http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread...ltra-Slash-4x4

so far, only the bearing on the motor mount failed, the rest still hold up.

My set-up for the MT is around 7.5 lbs (MIP all corners, MMP+2400kv, Masher tires, GoPro Camera, and 19/54 gearing on 5400mAh/8200mAh 3s batteries. I am also very hard on my throttle - long wheelies, and fast start-up.

I had my mmp waterproofed, so I often use a garden hose to wash my dirty truck

Having said that, if you don't use your truck in dirty/wet condition, you may opt for the cheaper bearing options that Boca has. I plan to use the 99-cent bearing next time around.

didn't read your post before posting mine above. I guess that bearing is under too much stress, and often the first one to fail.
we may have to try the Kingheadz motor mount next for bigger bearings

The King Headz Motor mount is awesome. Don't forget their big bearing adapter. I have this setup on my Sl4sh, earlier this week I ordered the same for my P4de. Very good upgrade. IMO
