    Question Gear Pinion Question?

    What is the different between Gear, 18-T pinion #1918 / Gear, 23-T pinion #2423 / Gear, 26-T pinion #2426 / Gear, 19-T pinion #2419 / Gear, 31-T pinion #2431 / Gear, 16-T pinion #2416 ?

Such the part list just shown > PINION GEARS: Traxxas offers a wide selection of 48-pitch pinion gears for performance tuning.

Can someone explain more about this?

    Well I'm a Newbie.

18-T means the pinion got 18 teeth. More teeth means more speed, but more heat. Less teeth means more torque, less speed and less heat. I don't know what 48-Pitch means...

Pretty sure pitch is the size hole in the gear. Slash 4x4 is 32p, but my boss 302 is in the mail and I'm not sure what pitch 1/16th cars use. Should be in your parts list or manual. Hope this helped.

I guess 1/16 model used 48-pitch pinion gears... is it 32p reaction will better than 48p? Is it 1/16 can modify to 32p?

48 pitch is the size of the pinion hole. In order to use a 32 pitch pinion you would need a new motor that has a 32 pitch shaft size. The 1/16 traxxas motors use a 48 pitch pinion.

I'm a little surprised no-one bothered to type "what is gear pitch" into Google. Anyway, it's got nothing to do with the axle hole. Pitch is the "size" of the gear teeth, which takes into account the angle, depth, and spacing of the teeth around the gear.

Why use google when you've been misinformed on these forums for several years?

Sorry about that. Some things are better left to myth and lore; don't ask me about the Tooth Fairy or where socks in the dryer go.
