Update: just got a email from the maker of the diff cups, mine are getting shipped Fri.he also said he is going to make another batch of ten.It takes some time(8 to 10 weeks)i believe to make them.they are areo grade aluminum so each one has to be machined.i will give a review when they get here.PM me for more info then I'm not cluttering up the thread

I will be buying more then 10 diffs from the guy. I am buying more then 10 diffs because the guy lives in germany and it would be easier and cheaper to get them from me instead of waiting for him to make it and ship it. thanks to jamann

No worries glad someone is able to do it.That was my plan at first as well,But some health issues are stopping me from working for a while so money is going to get a bit tight for a bit.Good work Mikey560 this could be the answer to alot of peoples issues.

The packing the rear diff with marine grade bearing grease seems to have helped some.

i think a lot of the problem with diff's going out is the silicone fluid that is put in there will only last so long and then it begins to break down. When this occurs i think some heat comes into play weakening the spider gears. The diff cup also plays a large part as this flex's under large loads and moves the gear mesh enough to cause the spider gears to break or strip.

the metal diff cup will help this tremendously. Also i was looking at the output shaft gears. they are the same as the spider gears. The are just really hard. I tried drilling them out with a 3mm drill bit and got no where drilling a hole in those. I am going to consult a machine shop here locally to see what he can do.

Any word on these? I DEFINITELY need a couple sets of them. I've been through at least 8 or 9 diff cups on my Summit. Yeah, 6S on an 18v DeWalt yadda yadda yadda... . I don't care if everything else breaks, I'm sick of tearing half the truck apart to do the diffs! Let something else break for a change!

They don't look that hard to make. One lathe and two mill operations. I could make them myself but I'm not sure I could sell them for much of a profit. I would have to make hundreds. Hmmm...maybe I could.
    I really should be working.

they are 7075 alum hard stuff, the guy's i talked to said they are not as easy to make as you would think, now i'm not a machinist by any stretch.they do look fairly intracate to me.and i am looking at one right nowOne of the prototypes that did not work).(the other prototype that i made work is still in my truck doing fine so if you can make them you should more people will want/need them.

    I try to be thorough.

The gist of the pricing is that even if someone purchases 10 and sells you 2 at his cost, you are still talking $121US Including Priority Mail flat rate shipping.

That's a lot of plastic diff cups to tear up to make it cost effective.

^Yes it is...Like anything else do you really need RPM Arms on your truck? Maybe, Maybe not
All in what you need & want to spend on your truck.

There is alot of machine work to build them. More then just a lathe & a mill. I think to build one you will scrap ten or better with out a CNC machine.. Also it would take alot of time to build just one manually, & to program the CNC another problem. This hobby is all about time but after you scrap a few......

I have spent over that amount in rear diff's alone.the parts cost alone is ridiculous.I do not expect traxxas to make this part for a number of reasons cost being the main one.they are not a simple part.7075 is very hard, bits for the milling machine are not cheap
cnc machine not cheap.a lot of time invested for little to no real profit.i am very happy to have the choice to buy these.no one else is making them.Truth be told i payed more than everyone else is going to.I'm still happy about it after you have replaced or rebuilt a few you will notice everytime the spiders or ring gear gernades the plastic cup gets distorted or chewed up.so replace that and the spiders possibly the ring gear.thats about 45 bucks a pop for me or get one off ebay for 30 or so and wait a week or two to get it.so for me money well spent...thats just my opinion mind you

I did not intend to suggest that the cups would not be worth it for some people. We sometimes throw $250 to $300 motor systems in these toys and then spend the equivalent amount on a radio system, add batteries and charger(s), etc, etc. It is readily apparent that $150 to $200 for super diffs is not very far-fetched.

No worries i am just getting sick of rebuilding them(I in know way say traxxas is at fault here i run my truck hard and in some tough places i expect stuff to wear and break quicker)I can completelyy remove repair and replace the front or rear in about 15 minutes that is not because i am a mechanical wizard i have done it many times my buddy has two trucks and not much free time so you know who is wrenching on those as well,Although i enjoy that part as well.i would like to fix something else once in a while that is the only part i have issues with regularly. Not running the ridiculously big rock crusher tires has helped some helped some
