I received the 12800 on Sat and finally picked up the 5827X last night.
The battery is very solid, sealed very well and IMO a good price at $150 with the warranty. I will have to see how well the Slash 4x4 holds up with the weight and make some minor suspension changes after the first couple runs around the track. As turok posted on the 4x4 forum about the 12800...
Anyone want to meet in Atlanta so we can race to Florida???? I'm in!!!!overnight charging FTW haha then you could make freeway runs from Atl to florida

Why no hard cases?
These new forums are a very good idea!!![]()
Just accelerate, and only good will come.
I am using the Venom Pro Charger Plus, out of the box it took about 98 minutes to charge at 7 amp's. The charger alarmed and showed the pack was "full", on checking the cells it came back with a total of 8.24 (?????). The pack is running fine, a bit too heavy, but that was to be expected, my Slash 4X4 is weighing in at 7 lbs exactly. On my next charge I am going to run it at 5 amp's to slow it down and see if it gets up to 8.4.
It is not a hard case. They call it semi-rigid and that prety much explains it. It is more solid than a soft pack but not as solid as say my Venom hard case. I would have no issues bouncing this thing around and running it through wet areas, given the warranty this thing will be hit hard for the next 6 weeks to see how it holds up.are they all soft cases? huh i didn't realize that.
One note... On the pack it states "ROHR" compliant. I beleive that Traxxas will have these packs ROHR approved at some point down the road.

Many chargers have a default shut off time, the charger will only charge for so long or to so many mah then automatically shut off. You probably will have to start the charge cycle a second time to get a full charge into that pack.I am using the Venom Pro Charger Plus, out of the box it took about 98 minutes to charge at 7 amp's. happens often with any kind of battery that i had to charge and run a pack 4 times before it got even near its rated capacity! i think this is because some packs after there made are left at storage level for too long

Let's stay on topic guys. The question was asked what charger was being used to charge this pack and that is fine. What followed was turning into a conversation about after market chargers and their capabilities and that is not okay. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation here.

ROAR & ROHR are 2 different things...
ROHR is related to Reduction of Hazardous Substances ( ROHS in the UK ) manufacturing requirements, ROAR is a little organization that makes up stupid rules to stifle competition & innovation in r/c racing clubs, such as needing hardcases for lipos....
Keeping the Mods busy is my specialty...
