MY Jato just wont hit top speed, why?

Hi, I have a jato 3.3 with about 3 gallons through it and lately I've had some problems getting it to run well but currently it accelerates very well and seems to have to enough torque but it just wont high anywhere near 60 mph, it will hit 2nd gear but the tires don't balloon out at all. Does anyone know why it's not going as fast as a jato should?

If your engine is 3-gallons old it may be time to replace your piston/sleeve does it have a good pinch?
Are the tires supposta to blow off going into 2nd?

What are the speeds are you getting? Is you using a radar or GPS unit or just eyeballing it? Also are you running stock gearing?
Speed is the rate of change of distance with time.

If the engine sounds the same, it's probably just a sligthly worn clutch or slipper clutch.

If the engine sounds different, investigate your tuning and piston/sleeve.

Yeah, what does your engine sound like when its running? Does it have that whining high RPM sound? Like a bumble bee some sort of performance enhancing drug? If thats the case my guess would be a worn out slipper clutch, or a destroyed second gear...
    R/C is expensive...
