    what brushless system to run?

Whats a good set up to run in the summit, that works well for crawling? I want to run brushless lipo combo for better run times and consistent power. I don't plan to run in water.

On a Summit??? Sounds like a waste of a truck. Not too be mean I don't think that system works toooo well at low speeds. I could be wrong! I wouldn't do it.

A sensored brushless system is what you are looking for, it will be good for crawling. The MMM is sensorless and will cog at low speed. Tekin is a popular system, jamann just got a different sensored system and seams to be happy with it. I'm sure he'll chime in.

Tekin is sensored. The esc runs a dual drive mode, it starts in sensored and switches to sensorless. Check out tekins website for more info.

It goes surprisingly well at low speeds. It you are in low gear, the motor is going at pretty high rpms. When I want to go rock crawling, I shift into low gear and run on 2s lipo. Is is a little slower than stock and super smooth, even next to stock it is pretty smooth

I went ******* 150a sensored with a xerun 2250kv sensored motor it was a good investment to see if brushless is for me.Keep in mind i was the guy who said.... and i quote"i will never go brushless in this truck"...chomp,chomp.....I'm a bit full from eating those words.still have my dewalt setup for winter but it crawls as good maybe better and flip it in high and it becomes a dirt chucking gravel shooting rip snorting beast(see Tim camerons buggys on you tube)People, trucks, cats, dogs everything gets out of the way

    Here's what I'm running:

    Tekin RX8, 2250 kv, 4s or 5s lipo, 18/62 gearing.

is there much difference running a 18/62 vs 16/58? what would be the better combo? I'm bad at figuring out the final ratio..

It depends on what you are after
to figure out final drive ratio in low stock is (70:1) spur divided by pinion multiply by14.45 So 18/62 =49.77:1
    16/58 =52.38:1 in low .I will let you do the math for high gear.it's spur/pinion x 5.22

so if I want more power in low I should go with the 16/58 and lose some top speed right?

i should add I was running the dewalt with 12 58 and 14 58 to rotate the motor more to the center and get it a bit lower for climbing. It helped.went cheapo brushless and went 14/58 now at 16/58 seems happy there crawls great and still has plenty of snort even detuned haven't really broken any thing exept my new shell high speed runs+drag brake set on to test it out= short life for that shell...LOL I'm running the xerun sensored 2250kv motor the 14t pinion made the motor run a bit warm 16 seems to have evened that out have to run it hard for a bit to see....Oh Ya and hang on it's going to suprise you when you hit the throttle

I have my slipper set to where it will just barely lift the front on a hard launch slips a bit more on high traction i have 7 oz of lead weight in each front wheel so wheelies are not on my list of things to do.so far doing ok.i am looking into metal diff carriers.thats where most of my failures have stemmed from the cup flexes or cracks and parts start breaking

more power, more fun, more problems!

I"m gonna try the 18\62 maybe wont have as much torque save my drive line a bit.

I used fishing lead 1/4 inch round comes on a roll two wraps inside rim and started and ended in the same spot so they pretty much balanced.duct taped to stop them from moving.Stick on automotive weights work really good as well

you can also tune down the esc and work your way back up until it gets just out of control.........

pretty much madatory for climbing, the front just doesn't bite as well without the weight and much less flipping over backwards. The front will settle down instead of continuing to reach for the sky
