    Buyn some tires...hex sizes questions.

Putting some aka racing I-beam truggy tires on the revo....

    http://www.rcplanet.com/AKA_Racing_T...ka14101hpw.htm

Question is do they just use regular hex nuts like stock black ones(14mm) or the hex nut adapters withthe larger center diameter.

I know there 17mm just need to know what kind to use.

    thanks

    Ed

The spec's for the tires say:

    Hex Size: 17mm
Hows that nitro taste on your electric?

AKA's use the larger diameter hex's if im understanding you question properly. Like the Blue Tmaxx/Revo ones or equivalent.

Ima go with these wheels for the offset .

And yes the revo I got has the same hex as shown above....do these wheels use the same latger diameter or the standard size with just 17mm hex

Yes those wheels are 17mm, if you have the Revo with 17mm hubs they will fit without any mods.

The OFNA wheels are LPR and the AKA tires/wheels do not say the inner size of the tire, you have to be careful with that too, you will have to stretch the tires to fit on the wheels.

Is the 1/2 offset really worth the trouble of finding wheels that fit?

Is not the offset, is the size of the wheel and the bead what makes the fitting problem.

I don’t know why some manufactures don’t print the tires and wheels sizes in their products. When you go to Proline or Traxxas products you will always find the inner, outer and width sizes of the tires with bead explanations.

Then try to find the AKA tires without the wheels and glue them on the Ofna wheels and will have the 1/2 offset setup with the tires you like (AKAs)

Made sure to order 2 lefts and 2 rights?

i kid. i kid. i ran some of those I-beams they are a pretty slick tire. They burnt up FAST on the asphalt though, recommend keeping them dirty. that was an $80 lesson i wont soon forget.
