Is it worth getting the Pro Programming card for my ESC?
The Leopard 150a brushless ESC has three options for programming.
1. No card and just use the lights and beeps (not for me, already messed stuff up)
2. A simple $12 card that will pretty much do it all but can not connect to computer or handle firmware updates.
3. A Pro version that does it all but can also be connected to the computer for further programming and firmware updates
Do these speed controls ever really get a firmware update? I'd find it rare since only people that pay for the optional (and more expensive) card can use it.
Does anyone have the Pro version and can tell me anything about it?
It's really not that much more expensive and at this point I might as well just get it but wanted to know some info first.
Also, what is the easiest way to setup the ESC so you can program it easier? Seems like you need to plug the ESC into the card when you want to program it so that means opening up the receiver box every time. That's not cool. Any ideas? Maybe a connection plug between the ESC and the receiver so I can separate them from outside the box?
Finally, I have the ESC attached to the truck frame with double sticky tape. Can someone recommend a nice mount that I could use so this would all be a little firmer.
So I got the programming card and really glad I did. Just all around easier with it. What I didn't realize is that there are a ton of them out there that are compatible with my Hobbywing 150amp ESC. If you ever need one, shop around.
