some help diagnosing a problem please

Hi everyone, after a pretty hard bash session, I noticed a strange noise coming from the rear end of my slash 4x4. I tore the rear end, and the entire slipper assembly apart and everything appeared ok. after putting it back together I am able to lightly touch the throttle and have the motor and spur gear spin, but none of the wheels move??? I even tightened the slipper all the way down to make sure it just wasn't too loose, and still the motor and spur spin. is the slipper assembly shot?? I did notice a bit of a wobble on the spur that I cant get rid of. might have bent it a bit too. what do you guys think???

Sounds like the magnet may have come loose from the main shaft.

Do they spin when the car is in the air only? Do they also spin when it is on the ground? If when on the ground it almost has to be the slipper. Is there still meat on the pads? The spur gear is screwed into the slipper?

Check your bearing that the slipper assembly rides in? Pull your slipper apart to make sure the pads aren't glazed, or make sure you didn't shear the pin that holds it in place on the shaft. Are you running a Lipo?

yeah 3s . the pads may be glazed. the slipper rebuild coincided with refilling the rear shocks so I may have had some on my hands during the rebuild. what should I do if this is the case, clean it with an alcohol wipe or something?

I just scraped the glaze off of mine the other day with the edge of my needle nose plier/leatherman. But a fine grit sand paper, file, nail file, anything of that sort should work just fine to scuff the faces of the pads. I also scuffed the plate that it rides on with a scotch brits pad a little bit. If you think you may have some oil on it, it would be a good idea to wipe with alcohol before you put it back together.

Alcohol may work, but the best thing to use is RC motor spray.
