Batts: Two 3S 35C Cont / 50C Burst Venom 5000Mah Lipo
This saturday i was riding it around on pavement in the parking lot and within 5 mins, the emaxx came to a complete stop like i was hitting the brake. Like it didnt coast to a stop, it acted like it locked up the tires a little. So i walk over to it and i hear a pop, some steam sound and then flames. I ran over thinking it was my LIPo. MY brave self i ripped the body off and quickly disconnected both batts to see it was actually the ESC in flames.. To save my 600 dollar truck i dumped my drinking water on it to put out the flame. It burnt a whole through my body, melted the esc right where the positive batt wires goes into it. Both the positive and neg wires connected to the ESC melted off. After letting it cool down i tried pushing the car and it bearly moved b/c the motor was very very tough to spin. Both the esc and motor are done.
So my question is, what happened lol. Why did the car come to a squeeling stop before burst into flames. Did the motor die causing the esc to blow? I checked the voltages on my batts and they both read at every cell 4.02 - 4.03V which is correct for only 5 mins of run time.
I bought it brand new last year aug 18, 2010 so it should still be under warrenty. Ppl who have had there replaced, whats should i expect from castle.
