weird sound from coming the motor

i was going to drive my e revo yesterday and i always check everything before i run it. and there was a weird grinding sound. my first thought was striped gears so i took off the cover and they were fine. i plugged in a fully charged battery and there was a blue spark that was in the motor its self. i just got the motor
what could it be?
its a brushed motor. everything stock

you'll see sparks in a brushed motor while it runs (small amounts)

It could possibly be that you've incorrectly set the gear mesh. I no that makes a grinding sound. But other than that I don't know what else it could be since you just got the motor

make sure you break it in good. it wont last three runs if you dont break it in

how do u break it in? and i 90% positive the gears are right

I've found this on google for breaking in electric motors, hope it helps.

Note direction motor turns when truck goes forward. Take the motor off the truck, tape AA battery between motor wires. When AA is dead your ready to go! You can shoot a tad bit of wd40 on the brushes while its running to aid in the break in.
When you put the motor back on I like to use a small strip of a receipt. Seems to be the perfect thickness.
