wow, this truck just keeps getting better!

I love driving my sl4sh! Its the fastest truck I have, its set up for 3s-4s and I'm running a CC SCT 2400. I gear it around 17-20 /54 tops. Some times, I go nuts for a week and run 22-24/50 but, the motor gets hot. 210° or so. The slash is an ultimate with a few upgrades.I've got teckno cvd 's, carriers, steering blocks, RPM bumpers, arms. Strc alloy motor plate/mount. I run it as a MT weekdays and switch it over friday after work for racing that night and or sunday. I keep 2 sets of bigbores on hand, MT front 45w, race front 35w. Mt Rear 65 and race is 45. Recently, I snapped the shaft on my 2400, I was running plastic spur too.? Well any way, CC sent me a 5mm repair kit. While my truck was down, (3 days previous, I sold my back up 2400 because I figured this was gonna last me) I took it apart and replaced bearings, diffs washers, link ends and hollow ball. Now that its back together, it feels like a new truck. Every think is smooth and tight. I'm running a new look for the MT and it looks killer. Drive and jumps awsome.
I like to name the set ups I put together cause im crazy like dat lol. This one is the Orange Crush

    Here's under the lid

On the weekends I race the modified class. The outdoor track track requires fenders with full cover so the 14rs body is the one im using. Looks like this when the weekend comes.

I just can't get over how much fun this truck is, with either setup, its a blast.

    You did all the paintwork?
Do the Trenchers rub on the fenders?

    Why the modded body mount?

I know they're having their break there by your brake drums. No, you're not invited.

Yup, this is another one of my paint jobs.
Yes the tires rub but only if you push a single wheel up. If it rocks sideways it doesn't rub and if you compress the truck to the ground it doesn't rum but one tire really hard, you can here it one in a while. Besides, thee way I drive, those tires are alot thinner for most of the run.
I didn't want too use the body mounts that come with Jconcepts Raptor, the are brittle and snap easy from what I read. So the pede mount and stock slash combo just happened to be perfect.

4S + that motor system and those tires = a surprisingly stable and extremely fast truck rolling on 4 pizza cutters. It'll put a grin on your face fo' sho'.

I did not realize the Raptor body came with its own body mounts.

A(nother) question: if you needed to get across a closely-mowed grass field in the shortest amount of time possible, which version would you choose - MT or SC/Baja?

Yes, the Raptor comes with some tall extensions you replace the slash posts with. If you look in the slash MT thread, you can see these on most of the Raptors. All Aluminums truck and 2 or 3more on the last page have them intalled. I also didn't really care for the tall post sticking way up. The factory holes for the mounts line up behind the hood vents but on a 4x4 slash, have to come up through the vent. I didn't want to poke a hole there either so I gave the pede mount a shot and it sat perfect. It does feel a bit weak in the center of the body because the mounts are so far out to the ends but I left the nerf bars on and that helps it from compressing in the middle and splitting the body. (I'm hoping lol)
Even though the big tires gear it up, I would run the SC across that field. The race set up would stick the tires to the ground, that set up feels much more stable and the truck has very little bounce. When I have the MT shocks on, it would have a bit more of the tires coming up and loosing traction. So I guess the SC would be the quickest in that case.

    Thanks for the replies.
That grass answer was what I expected.

Have you balanced the Trenchers? I think I did mine, but I have recently balanced and re-balanced enough tires to not remember where I started.

Remember: these wheels are 12mm hex and your Slayer Pro runs 14mm. Choose your wheels wisely!

I really like that raptor body. I think i need to get (another) one and use it as a show body. first one was run over by a real car, with the Slash still attached to it.
