what's the stupidest thing you have done??

what is the stupidest thing you have done with a microwave?
well for me it was a few years ago but i was trying to make instant rice. i was told to put it in a bowl then the microwave. so i did not knowing that you had to put water in it. then after a few minutes it started to smell like that burnt things so i stopped it and sure enough the rice was smoking almost on fire
good lesson leaned from that. read directions before cooking rice.
    whats your story???

Well when I was 8 I tried to make soup so I opened up the top of the can and put it in the microwave. Shorty after there was a loud series of bangs and I was watching a fireworks show.

Oh man talk about a bad memory. I was boiling some eggs one time and when I cracked the first one open it was not boiled enough. Since I had already dumped the water I got the bright idea to save some time and put he remaining eggs in the micro wave for a minute to finish them off. Right as I opened the door on the micro wave to remove the 3 remaining eggs they EXPLODED almost as if on cue. There were tiny bits of egg EVERYWHERE!! I caught most of them from about my waist up but I found small pieces of egg as far away as the living room.

When I was 8 I was out playing with a toy boat in the snow (in the winter). When I went inside I wanted to melt the snow off the boat so I put it in the microwave. Plastic boat + metal scres + Microwave = new microwave and no allowance for a long time. Honest mistake...

Stupidest thing though - Tried to clear the BIG double for the win on my stock 440... goodbye ligaments, cartilage, meniscus and many small bits of bone... oh... and goodbye racing career. Hehe. Good thing chicks dig scars.

Question asked: "Why did you try it?"
Answer: "Cause the chicks dig it!"

At least till they see the aftermath of broken bones, blood & bruises!

When I was 22, I tried to outrun the Chicago Police. (key word: tried)
The best part of that was... I beat it in court!

my dad did that when he was young, sliced 3 fingers off right at the knuckle, and his dad ran outside and broke his leg because he fell, the leg that was ALMOST HEALED, so they both were in the hospital the same day. The firetruck ran over one of his fingers too. he ended up getting them back on, since he raced motocross so his dad thought with 3 fingers gone he couldnt hold on good anymore, so they did everything they could to get them back on. so now 3 of his fingers are like 3mm shorter then the others, but still work like they were not cut off

A couple years ago I was mowing my lawn with my dad's 12.5 hp 6 speed craftsman, the bags were full and I was blacktop, put in 6 and popped the clutch. Boy was the fun, but a couple weeks later my dad noticed two cracks on each side of the frame...

He was able to weld it and never found out I did it but the tranny could have let go right there...

Most stupid thing ever (but funny) when i was a little kid i begged my mom for a penny so i could ride the automatic horse at the grocery store... When my ride was over i went to get off.. I ended up tripping, falling, and landing on a square metal bar that put a large hole right next to my eye (when i moved my eye you could see my muscle moving)... Now i have a nice sized scar by my eye with an embarrassing story

You know those small bags of popcorn, not just the regular size but the super small ones. Yeeeaaa.....don't put them in the microwave for the amount of time for the big ones. Lots of smoke and a terrible smelling microwave for the next couple weeks.

I have done that, got a new super wattage nuculator and tossed a bag in for 3 1/2 min.
Boy did that popcorn smoke like mad! After it stopped smoking it looked like melted black plastic.

I've done a lot of bad stuff lol. Not sure what story is better. Found out the hard way that the Anarchists cook book leaves out some minor details in it's instructions!
My buddies used to car surf on my 84 mercury cougar station wagon at school as we drove around the school. We were busted by the police finally. While being questioned by the police the wagon overheated and caught fire. That was halarious and embarrassing at the same time. My folks weren't too happy though...
I had hydraulics on my Topaz, yes a Topaz. So while at a red light I flipped the switches and when the car went up I lost pressure and slammed down hard. There just happened to be a cop 2 cars back. He wasn't impressed. Neither was the judge...

Last year or so when my son was 8, I made him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for lunch and put it in the refrigerator.
He was standing next to me while I was making it, and I jokingly said, "when you're ready to eat it, just microwave it for thirty seconds." I said it with a smile on my face, in a sarcastic tone, and then giggled a little after saying that.

Well... turned out Vincent didn't realize I was being a wise guy -- he microwaved the sandwich. Poor guy. It didn't blow up or anything, but I could tell by what was on the plate that it oozed. I'm sure the bread was no fun either.

Man... I felt like a piece of ... well you know.

Hmmmmmm, I have a very painfully memorable experience from when I was a bright 17 years old.

About 2 years back, I had a LOT of parts to dye, so I boiled about 2 gallons of water. Since I did not want to dye parts in my father nice pots, I decided to use a 1/4" thick acrylic box. (1st stupid mistake) Now, I was pretty confident of this box because of its thickness and the fact that it was used to store chemicals (it was air tight). Once the 2 gallons of water was boiling, I then poured it all into the box (2nd stupid mistake). Well, as soon as all the water was in, the box started to crack like crazy! Kinda like in the movies when a person is standing on ice when it begins to crack. I just knew that it was going to spill all over my mother's carpet. So silly me picked up the CRACKING box full of BOILING water (3rd VERY stupid mistake) to throw it out the door. Well, it kinda shattered in my hands as it was being thrown out. Needless to say, I had 2 gallons of boiling water spill all over my left had. The hand was immediately covered in huge blisters and the skin started peeling off immediately also. Well, ironically I am very knowledgeable about how to care for burns, so I put it in clean cold water immediately. I was in no pain just as long as my hand stayed cold.

Well, my father then took me to the emergency room. After being rushed into the back room, the doctors had the bright idea to see what kind of pain I was in with my hand out of the water. Well, lets just say my hand hurt at least 10x as when I broke my leg. They let me put my hand back in the water momentarily. Since they did not want it so stay saturated for too long (about 2 hrs now) they gave me a few units of morphine and took my hand out of the water. Well the morphine didn't work one bit. 10 more units of morphine later, and 16 units of something else that I don't remember and my pain was still through the roof. Finally after 45 minutes of torture, they put my hand back in the water. Problem solved. (always found it ironic that of all things, water, stopped my pain)

In the end, I stayed 2 nights in the hospital, and had to go through a bit of therapy (and wear a special compression glove) to regain movement in my hand since it had so much new skin. I now have no scars or restrictions from the fairly heavy 2nd degree burn 2 years later.

    Lesson learned.

Oh, another dumb thing I've done LOL.
I had access to a big mountain bike and I wanted to ride it down a pretty
steep slope. So I started out, everything was going great and then I tried to slow
down and I realized the brakes were not working
I kept going down the hill and had to make a sharp left turn
on pavement with those big knobby mt bike tires.
You get the idea, yeah scrapped my knee, elbow and wrist pretty good.
I know it didn't near as much as getting burned by scalding water, but it hurt.

If that was true I'd have women beating down my door. ...maybe there is such a thing as to many scars.
Stupidest thing I've ever done... spent 17 years with the Ex? That's a lot of years I'll never get back.
Or, long story short, maybe failing to realize that the signs that read Danger! High Voltage! Keep out! were there for a very good reason. That oversight resulted in a 230,000 volt shock (yes; you read that correctly), a ride on the MediVac helicopter, six weeks in the regional burn center, in intensive care, and more scars than I can possibly count. Yeah; young, bored, and full of alcohol is not a good combination. I'll spare you the rest of the graphic details, but suffice to say that working with anything electric now makes me VERY nervous. Even plugging a battery into my trucks makes me jump if there's any kind of spark.
