    P4de set-up?

Ok, My son talked me into getting a 4x4 Pede. This thing is a blast!

I would like to know what the weak links are on this truck? Are there parts that most people change right away? BTW- we are just using it as a basher.

On my list of hop-ups are:

Motor heat sink & fan (Which ones fit?)
    Alumn c-hubs and axle carriers
    Alumn shock towers
    Titanium hinge pins
    A couple of new lids

Also, what weight shock oil and pinion gear size are you all using?

The most common parts are; shafts, slipper clutch, motor mount, bearing adapter.

Can you elaborate on the motor mount? Isnt the stock mount aluminum?

Thanks RC-Fan....so, the motor plate is aluminum then?

Im running a 2s 30c 5000mah LiPo. After about 40 minutes of bashing, the thermal kicked in. Looking at getting this heatsink: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXABWB&P=7

    Any thoughts?

The motor plate is metal not exactly aluminum, I guess that fan would help get one for the esc too, after 40 min I think it was the lvc that kicked in.

If your thermaling on 2s, you need to make sure there are no drivetrain bindings, mesh is correctly set and others. If its still getting that hot, you must be bashing fast and hard in which case, drop the pinion to a 9t and or put a fan on the ESC.

IU have a fan on the ESC...it is definitely not the LVC....I picked up a 9t pinion, so I give that a try .

Has anyone used the heatsink I linked to? Does it fit?

Ok, so I hooked up the Lipo to the charger, and it showed 6.4 volts, which confirms the LVC kicking in....just kind of odd though that it went from full tilt to nothing; Isnt the esc suppose to cut to 50% power when your nearing the LVC?

The LVC on Traxxas ESC is rather low, more so then to my liking but nothing you can do about other then replace it with another brand. That being the case, as soon as you loose throttle response, immediatlely stop driving go over and shut off the vehicle and unplug the lipo. Don't drive it to save yourself a walk, you'll drain the lipos below safe voltage levels.
