That's a whole other world. The number one thing with these to me to improve performance is new tires. Id u wanna drift get drift tires of you want grip get grip tires. The stocks are about useless and unpredictable.

that i'm coming to realize they were good for the first couple packs but the tread just wont grip it's very unpredictable at full throttle. any suggestions on a good medium between drift and grip tires something on a good looking rim.

most peopl use hpi 1/10 touring car tires. you can buy some pre mounted ones or buy sepertely and glue em yourself. i would suggest pre mounted. i only have a set of the x patterns that are good for grip. not good for drifting. if you check out hpi website under the touring and drift section they have a huge section of wheels and tires ill PM you the links

thank you very much man. now one more question do you know of any decent priced and good led lighting systems I could mount on my fiesta. I'm pretty sure i'm going to make it a drifting show piece. so defiantly going to look into a set of premounted drive tires and getting a clear focus body to paint straight black I'll post pictures as soon as i get started

With you wanting to drift I would look at getting the adjustable toe links that way you have more adjustment in the suspension.

I thought about a semi merv conversion just to widen the stance but leave it low. Any thoughts?

yeah! I have a merv I put KB push rods on! it limits the travel but has the wideness, add some foams and a drift box and your having some fun!

I'm gonna do a clear body aI'm jusr waiting for proline to make a chevy body for it I l
Just don't want a ford I mean the fiesta is okay butttttt I'm a chevy guy

it would be nicer though if traxxas would release a corvette, colbolt, or even a colorado body. really anything chevy and i'd be a happy guy

I know a lot of people say the dbox is cheating but I just had to try one and for one, the suface makes a huge difference! The first time I used it I couldn't tell it was working at all. Then I took it to work where it's sealed asfault and very slick and easy to drift without the cheater box and wow! effortless! Correct, no skill required. Since then I haven't used it much on my street car, tried it a few times on the merv, still have to test more to be able to say if I like it.
    Loved the hpi x pattern
I really like driving on the street but the kind of ripping up and down the street I like to do I wear out a set of tires in four to ten batteries. How long do you guys tires last?

I so far have only run the stock slicks and those are wearing down i'm about 5 runs into them on anything from smooth concrete to roughly paved road but all in all every run it gets more like a drifter idk if that's the fact that i'm finally learning to do it or if my tires ar just getting that slick. lol didn't know slicks could get any worse then stock

Heat in a NiMh is completely normal.

It is the inefficiency coupled with the high discharge rate of the cells that creates the heat.

I think we are putting to much demand on those little nmh packs. I've burnt up five lipo packs cause the c rating was too low for what I was doing (merv geared for speed with proline sand paws full throttle through three acres of wet grass and no lifting will baloon a 15-25c lipo fast)
I always thought the vxl was wimpy cause everyone complains about heat and over heating just running around the back yard but then I went to the local track and ran with all the 1/10 guys and I was suprised how little your actualy in the throttle. Its like gas turn line up for jump turn gas blablabla I'm saying that at the track your hardly asking the battery to work that hard, at least not as hard as ripping up and down the driveway nonstop for a charge.
The VXL is a great system as long as its used wisely like try to keep in mind that when your on the gas hard your batteries wanna give you the juice. Like in boxing, if they didn't take those short breaks every few minutes those dudes would be lying on the floor passed out!
Sorry I get carried away every time i start talking and there is no one here to interupt me
