Any idea what's causing crazy vibrations?

When I run my MERV full out -holding it in my hand- it shakes and shudders like crazy when it gets up to full power. Everything is bolted in tight on it. Is this normal?

It runs normal when on the ground, but when I pick it up and throttle it out, it goes berserk. Any suggestions?

i would lean towards the wheels not being balanced equally.

Agree with cameron, it is not a big deal for me, but if you are concern about it get a tire balancer, there are some videos on youtube.

could be some water in your tires as well
If it's clean, you're not using it right!

My MERV has always had some tire wobble and I don't know what causes it either. I got all of the water out of them, but they still wobble anyways, when running on the ground or in my hand. You have bashed in water before, but did you put holes in the tires before to allow the water to escape in them? Water in tires just doesn't mix well and causes tons of vibrations.
Just accelerate, and only good will come.

Just a side note, I would not suggest giving the truck full throttle with the wheels in the air. Nothing good really comes from it and on some occasions bad things may happen. I have seen RC cars throw tires off the rim sending them flying in any random dirction and motors toss the magnets off the rotor doing this.

Yeah, sometimes tires can fly off the rims (see video), but the tires barely are ballooning 1/2 inch, so I don't think that that will happen. Anyways, you have to do that to get the water out of the tires. It really doesn't work well when you just try to do speed runs to get the water out. Throttle while in the air seems to the work the best.. for me, at least.

I've never heard of a motor shooting off magnets though. That must happen with extreme RPMs when the tires aren't on the ground, like a 100 MPH Rustler with regular tires full throttle off the ground .

    Now THAT'S some serious ballooning.

Yes that is what can happen with extreme RPM's but it does not take a 100 mph capable car to do this.

I know, that was just an exaggerated example.

I used a soldering iron to melt holes in them, and get the water out of my tires, and it's a lot less crazy. Still shudders a bit though. I'll have to try and balance them a little better when I get it up and running again.

    See this thread: http://traxxas.com/forums/showthread...08-Underwater!

As you can imagine, there's LOTS more water in them again!

I do agree that running the car full throttle off the ground does absolutely no good for it though -it is kinda' funny though!
