hey guys and gals, im really new to this and with that im guessing you know I'm about to ask a newb question. how the heck do i change this spur gear???? please give details! thank you guys so much!

Take the gear cover off. There should be 3 screws on the spur gear. Remove those. The spur gear should come off with a little force. Put a new one on and put the screws back in.

First, loosen the nut on the end until it comes off. Then take off the spur gear and undo the 3 screws that hold on the slipper plate to the gear. Take your new spur and simply put the slipper plate back on, then tighten the nut all the way and then 1/4 out.

You also need to swap the bearing before putting the slipper plate on the new spur gear.

As Evil said...no need to dismantle thr entire slipper clutch to change spur.

If you are replacing the spur with the exact same tooth count, this is the EXACT way to do it. The bearing will stay in place. The mesh should be correct, but check and adjust as necessary. You slipper setting will also stay the same. Easiest way to do it.
