steering arms stops part 5343x, how important are they?

    guys,
im in the process of rebuilding a erevo 5603, it needs a bit of TLC and im trying to fix it all up and get it all back to tip top working order again

here a look at this picture i found with google images

the part of the left is already fitted to the unit, however neither of the 2 parts on the right or middle shaped like a letter "u" are fitted

however the steering works fine, i assume these must help prevent the steering getting bent excessively in a crash and help save the servos but im not 100% sure

    any ideas?
    thanks

FYI - The two parts on the right are the same, except one is for extended range steering setups. The part prevents your servo from turning too far. When buying a replacement set you get all three in a package.

Without the steering stops you could damage the steering servos. The steering system itaelf would also be protected that much more with the stop installed. Id say its a neccesary piece.... Like the front bumper or skids.

its cool, i got it sorted... if you also look at the top of the steering stops, can you see the 2 little square raised pieces, these are what the rear hinge pins sit on from the bottom of the suspension so it has to be fitted anyhow or your in direstraights with your front suspension anyhow... lol
