    Proud New Owner

So i recently bought a new slash 2wd, and am loving it so far. ive already burned up 2 stock motors going all out. in short, i want more speed, more responsiveness, and more aggression out of this thing. after reading some posts on here, i decided to join up and get more into this hobby. can somebody help me by giving me some direction as to what i can do for higher overall performance? the sky is no limit for what id like to acheive. i split alot of run time to concrete shop floors ( playing instead of working) and hard packed dirt, like undeveloped urban lots. i really have no ambition to start racing as of right now, but might in the future. any help yall can throw my way would be appreciated. Thanks! Hazlett

Lipo batteries = Get a 2s 5000mah 25-30C LIPO.....If you don't care about blowing brushed stock motors after a while, then you can run all 2s LIPOS and an even higher "C" rating if you want more "punch". This will give you longer/faster run times, more punch/acceleration and higher top speed.
--"Make sure you know how to use/care for Lipo batteries"---

--If you want to have a whole new SLASH, performance wise, just go Brushless....EITHER of these are a good starter brushless.
    1) Traxxas VXL/Velineon combo (waterproof)
    2) Castle Creations SCT/3800kv combo

It's probably better to just grab a LIPO 1st, then you can always use it, if you go brushless later.

Invest in a 2nd pair of GOOD tires, that you can run when your on Hard surfaces/Hard packed dirt.
You can run the stock, but why wear them out, the stock are all-terrain tires(good tires!).
Look into Proline, JCConcepts, AKA, or Traxxas, their respective web-sites will inform you on what you need.

I would suggest upgrading to a brushless system like the velineon vxl or the castle sidewinder sct. Rpm a arms are always a good upgrade and some aluminum shocks

Same as he said!! I have the velineon, RPM's skid plates[ front one keeps the steering from popping out on front hits] both have extra mounting point, rear bumper mount and motor protector. Look at TRX's site,"pit pass',"hop ups',"build the ultimate slash" for ideas. I have Pro-line Split-Six beadlocs w/trenchers. I just "Run for Fun", You will like the truck it's a BLAST!! If you have a problem/ need support from Traxxas,Call them, they are "Outstanding"

    My $0.02 worth.

Rpm what breaks. I am still running stock a arms because they have not broken. The only rpm I have is caster blocks and front bearing carriers. If you bash as hard as I do get a chassis saver or when the chassis breaks go with an strc rustler chassis conversion kit.

If you want it to be a nuts truck go with a high kv brushless. I used to run a 5800 kv dynamite system and it was nuts. I have toned it down to a 4pole 4600kv castle now. Its still nuts. IMHO, go with a 4pole castle system and some nice high C lipo batteries and insanity will follow. If you get a high kv motor be prepared to buy new rear tires fairly often.

thanks for the tips everyone. im going to go brushless for sure. after my memorial day camping trip cost me a stock titan motor and 2 venom 15t motors. lol. it was an expensive trip though, i bent an a-arm pivot bolt in the rear, a front shock, and the bumper on the rear.. so on my shopping list this week is the castle creations brushless system, proline front shocks, aluminum a-arms all around, and some new lipo batteries.. anything i can do to keep the rear bumper from popping off the chassis?
