Just my $0.02, but I would leave the switch in the "on" poistion and leave it. The reason for this is that you must unplug your battery to turn off the esc. This is very important especially if you are using lipos. My one E-Revo doesn't even have an on/off switch...the switch was removed and the 2 wires are soldered to gether so it's permantly "on". You can lengthen it easy enough with a longer piece of wire (servo lead extension will work) and some soldering if you really want to extend it...up to you.

I see your point I always unplug when its not in use but that would make a good reminder, I do use lipos.

One time I left my 3s lipos in the truck plugged in by accedent for like a month and went on vacation. They have 0.001 volts now. Completely toast. $150 mistake.

^Could have been worse. Always store your batt in a safe place I use an metal tool box. That is all that is in there, & the batts are seperated from each other. I will have to show you some time the charger box I built for the batts.
Would you go flip my truck back over??

I personally like having a switch on mine....I moved it to just in front of my servo right behind the front a-arm. It's easy to get to with the shell on yet I have never had it accidentally switch off when running so that spot seems to work good.

    Thats pretty slick candyman.

I cut mine off, soldered the wires together, then tucked them inside the ESC case.

It get's dusty but I don't run when the grounds damp or get into water at all. I'm on my second switch in two years.
