So I could use the CVDs but I'd need to run 6mm bearings?

Would the 8mm bearings that come with the carriers be more robust though Snook Man?

Is there any other drive shafts I could get and use the 8mm bearings?

1)Yes if you get some 6x16mm bearings.

2)Yes larger bearings have more surface area & could be more robust then the smaller ones.
However most AvidRC bearings are $1 each so as soon as a bearing in my trucks gets iffy it gets replaced.
Tip 2, if you order from them order 2x of what you need so you have spares on hand.

3)You can use the stock 3.3 sliders with the Techno 8mm stubs, or do a LST axle mod with some larger inner bearings,

The down/up side to the LST axle mod is you will have to use 17mm hexes, if your still using 14mm hexes then that adds to the cost as you have to step up to 17mm hexes 17mm rims.
    Look out for the tree/crunch!

Thanks very much for the information Wildman. Much appreciated.

    I have already gone to 17mm Hexes/Wheels.

So many questions to ask/information to find out. Don't want to clutter this thread. Maybe I should start my own little build thread. I'm in the UK, so sometimes some items are hard to come by or I have to wait a while for delivery. Wonder if the Traxxas CVDs could be sleeved to 8mm.

AvidRC has bearings (6x16x5mm) that will work for TRX CVD's in the Techno carriers.

All you would need is a 6mm I.D. x 8mm O.D. sleeve, if you someone with a lathe it would be easy to turn down s 6mm I.D. bit of tubing.

Yeah, when you mentioned the Avid bearings I've looked on their website and seen them. Not sure how much they would charge for delivery to the UK as I can get the correct size bearings here for £9.20 for four inc delivery. This may work out the same as getting them from the States.

Right then, think I'm going to order the Traxxas CVDs, get some bearings and whilst running those look into some sleeves.

    Thanks again

Four for £9.20 for four inc delivery, that's cheap enough, as long as you can get the 6x16 bearings I would forget about the sleeve.

4 @$4+almost $4shipped here in the US I would just get the ones you found over there & be done with it.
