This is my little ramp.
I stared by drawing out the curve on a piece of brown paper. Took me forever to get the arc the way I wanted it. Then I transfered it to a cardboard templet. Now for the fun part. I started with a piece of 4'x8' sheet metal. Traced out my templet hated it & changed it again. Finaly went for it & stared plasma cutting. Cut everything & stared tack welding it together. Got it all tacked up & started welding. I had the idea of making it height adjustable. So I cut round tubing one that would slid inside the other. Then drilled holes every 2" for the key keepers. I then welded spikes & feet on the ends of the tubing. To keep the ramps from sliding. Well tell me what you think. The Maxx has been banded for this ramp.

Good looking ramp! I like the fact that it's metal. Very durable. One of my buddies build a ramp out of 1/4" wood, and when running my ERBE at top 4s speed, the truck went right through it lol!

It is about 40 - 45 lbs. More akward then heavy to carry.
I haven't used it much, higher than the 20". It hits perfict, but you have to hit it with some speed, shoots it right out there. Little throttle to keep it level. About 5' high & 20' launch.

I like it! I know what you mean by awkward...i hate big stuff like that. like you cant get your arms around it so you have to have them at certain angles and its just weird. maybe try a handle or something? If i could weld and all that stuff i would try to make a ramp like that...but for now i'll have to just make a wooden one

Nice that it's out of steel. My wood one is starting to break from the same rubbing on yours. Even my plastic ramp is breaking in the center. Once you get the angle down it's perfect. I had to modify mine once before I got it to where it launches at a good height and distance. Looks great bro!!

Maybe whack a couple of small wheels on it so you can pick the light end up and wheel it around.

Update ramp is doing well.

My work took down a 16' long & 5' wide, half wall. Making room for a new machine. I was thinking I have to come up with something with that wall. So here is what I came up with. First I took of the alum tin. Next I measured out the center, left a 2' landing on the top. Cut out the four sections with a cut off wheel, bent it around & welded it back together. Added a few braces. Loaded it on my trailer & brought it home. Finished up by skinning it again with the alum tin that was on it, screwed it down with sheet metal screws. Done.... Total weight 70/80 lbs maybe. I have tried to run the max up it, didn't make it. It is slick & the ribs makes the wheels bounce & lose traction. I will play with it & see what it needs to make it a little easy it climb, nothing else it looks cool..

Grew up in the country, lived in town far to long, never again. Neighbors you can have them, all they do is complain.
The Revo is faster even with the 2/2s.. I have yet to radar her (pit/mix) going to say she tops out about 30 mph. She is only about 45 lbs. I think it turned out pretty good. Thanks

For the blue beast, the trick for ramps like that is a low entry angle, and an almost circular radius to get the launch angle up quickly. Too high of an entry angle and you hit the nose or bottom out the suspension, which not only destabilizes the truck but it loses some speed, too.

Your welding skillz are far better than mine, though, so I'm certainly not criticizing the effort. I just wish my wife would let me keep something like that in the yard...

I like what you've done to recycle!

For the larger structure, you could maybe lay down some adhesive sandpaper (like they use to surface skateboards) in a few strategic spots to give the wheels something to grab long enough to launch to the next place. Or, some wood furring strips every 12-18". If you went that route, you could move them around to change the difficulty of the climb.

I took it out of our metal dumpster, we have for recycling.

I am a welder, not much at work any more, just the special jobs that come up.
The ramp is perfect, with a good tail wind, best jump todate 44 feet. Hit it with some speed & it will land every time.
