    Gear ratio calculation

    Today I stripped the stock 54 tooth spur gear. I am currently running the stock 13 tooth pinion also. I have a 12 tooth pinion gear, and 50 and 52 tooth spur gears. Which spur gear should I use with the 12 tooth pinion to get the closest gear ratio to stock?

    Thanks, Zane

    The 50 spur with the 12 pinion will be close. The stock ratio is 4.153 and the new ratio is 4.166. Pretty close.

    No problem. Pretty easy to calculate.

    Just divide the spur teeth with the pinion teeth.
    Stock = 54/13 or 4.153.
    52/12 = 4.333
    50/12 = 4.167

    The 50/12 combo is the closest to stock.
