Nice! you should lower the body it will look extra awesome then.
So I taped my hamster to the Pede..
does that bumper fit on a 2wd one
I lowered my body within the first hour of getting mine before I even ran it. Overall traxxas makes very nice lookin vehicles but this thing looks cheesy and retarded out of the box. They would absolutely get a boost in sales if it came lowered. Such a simple thing. I dont understand what they are thinking.
The high body does look pretty strange, in my opinion.
Just accelerate, and only good will come.
I love my pede 4x4, congrats !!!

Take the posts off .Cut them as short as you want them. I cut mine flush with the bottom of the body support washer thingy. Drill a new hole in each. You gotta grind the screws down just a hair so they dont poke through the body clip holes. I just hit them quick with my bench grinder. Dont listen to some of the people on here who are buying all different posts to make it work . They are makin it complicated and expensive when it is just easy and free.
Wow, this thread turned into a "we hate the stock body position" battle cry.
To the op, nice truck! Welcome to the family, you will absolutely love the truck in stock form and will want to marry it when you start upgrading it. I lowered my stock body but honestly, when I took the truck out of the box it looked real good. It's something about viewing it online that makes the stock height look bad. I have read that the stock height postiton really helps in roll overs as the truck ends up on it's wheel more than on it's roof.

i think the stock truck looks fine with exeption to the tires (too small but my jumbo kongs are just too big...) but your right with the high body it doens't stay on the roof long before it kicks itself back over.
Pede pede is right, the high body isn't a bad idea for first time owners. It will reduce the mileage you walk in the first few months. If you do desire to lower it, just hit the search bar with it and you will see we have some pretty cool tricks for the task. I use left over parts from 2×4 slash mounts. With some bodies, these factory mounts posts get in the way of the curves and body lines. Other bodies, like a beetle body or (rounded) roof lines will help it land on its wheels. The factory body is nice and rounded, it helps it roll back to wheels. Now my hummer and my puggy body, different story! It hits the roof with those two and its like a dirt magnet, those two roofs are flat as it gets and its all done rolling as soon as it hits the roof.
That's a good looking truck, by the way. I miss that fresh out of the box smell. Lol I built mine from a roller so, I missed out on this experience. I did start with all factory parts and beat it till I found weaknesses. Unfortunately their isn't much so after a month of sitting on upgrades I just put them on. Hope you enjoy your truck and I look forward to our discussions.
I'm not a hatchet man! I'm a maggot!
yeah i still havnt tried the pede yet, i just made a conversion that goes from trx to deans so i can plug in my 3s lipo off my blade 400. I kinda wanna see how it will run on steroides!!! as far as the body getting lowered, im not sure if im going to lower it just yet, but i do want to dye the chassis black...i think it would look sick...has anyone ever done this?
Tires for sure. A good battery for sure. esc fan. possibly a Castle system but not really needed yet.
