    Replacing Shock Shafts.. Need help

Well I bent one of my shock shafts so i'm trying to replace to replace it with the coated ones. What is the best way to go about replacing the shafts? sorry but i'm lost. Also, do you have to replace anything while doing this?
    Thanks in advance.

    Disassembly:
    1. Remove the shocks from the truck.
    2. Remove the ball ends. Use pliers to hold the shaft while turning the ball end.
    3. Remove the caps from the shock and drain the old oil.
    4. Pull the shaft up through the top of the shock.
    5. Remove the e-clip from the top of the shaft.
    6. Remove the shock piston and the second e-clip.

    Reassembly:
    1. Put lower e-clip on new shock shaft.
    2. Install shock piston and top e-clip.
    3. Apply a small amount of shock oil to the threads of new shaft. (To prevent tearing shock seals)
    4. Push new shaft into shock from top.
    5. Install new ball end. Use pliers to hold shaft, being careful not to scratch up new shaft.
    6. Fill shocks with oil.
    7. Tighten shock caps.

Its 2wd. Otherwise I'd be in the 4wd forum.

Now would be a good time to replace x-rings(seals). Rebuild kits are cheap at $2.50 for a pair of shocks.
