    Throttle Deadband

Has anyone ever noticed how much deadband the traxxas tx has. I have 2 revos and 2 truggies, one runs off the traxxas 2.4 for my wife and I run a spektrum dx3r. All trucks setup with the same motor/esc, gearing, and lipo and the one's ran off the traxxas 2.4 is much slower from the begining and top speed. My wife tries mine and there's a huge difference. The dx3r is set at factory with no throttle trim or deadband trim. Anyone have a way of changing this.

That's interesting... Does it seem to have more throw between neutral/forward/reverse on the trx transmitter? I haven't ran either of those tx/rx set ups on mine but have tried various deadband settings with mine and didn't notice much of a difference. Of course I was only trying the next step up/down from default. It would be worth trying a little less deadband to see if there is any change on the max throttle/brake.

Do you run any punch control or custom throttle curve settings? Maybe try adjusting the throttle curve so that it reaches peak slightly before the end.

have not tried tx/rx setup either,,, but I have tried the various with castle link with no noticeable difference either...
the throttle curve adjustment is a neat feature, but dont make changes to steep, keep the changes soft to the curve

look at the curve...my english is not that good... you can set 10 marks or so the curve...and I meant it litterally.... maybe more logical when you look at the curve,,, your truck will react like you make the curve so you dont want a too sudden rise of breakforce on the scale....

No punch or throttle curves. Everything is set at stock with full power. I think I will look into the castle link settings and see what can be done. I like the quick snappy response with instant power if needed. On the traxxas tx you literally have to floor it to get any amount of power. Maybe I'm just used to my spektrum but what a major lag the traxxas tx has.

Is it possible that they are running different versions of the firmware? I thought I was running 1.24 but I actually had clicked 1.21. After I changed it back to 1.24 the batteries felt like they had more punch. I was riding wheelies much easier

castle claims to make improvements form version to version if you read the "whats new" in this version. And they probably do :-) so why not.
