Don't stand behind your truck in the sand and hit the trigger

Any precautions I should do before running in the sand?
Anything I should cover except the gear cover?

I assume you have VXL right? If so I don't think theres much to be worried about.

If you plan on running often in the sand you might want to consider an outerwear shroud and some shock shrouds
Assuming everything's waterproof, I'd give the truck a good rinsing in fresh water before you put it away each day (and then some WD40). Me and my Bro-in-law took ours to Myrtle Beach last summer and we got some wierd looks rinsing our trucks off in the foot shower on the beach before retiring to our rooms each day. I had a guy bring in a T-Maxx to the Hobby shop two weeks(!!) after he got back from the beach, saying it wouldn't work. It was caked in sand and rust. His laziness cost him a bundle. He was a constant repeat customer because of his inability to simply care for truck. We wanted to adopt his Maxx and give it a good home.

Its been ages since I've had an rc on the beach....
But sand takes a lot of power to run in. Its easy to get things hot even when you don't feel like you're running it that hard.
How do paddles work on like hard packes wet sand?... i also got a question, Could i run 17mm paddles on the rear with the stock slash on the front? Or just 17mm tires on the back and stock on the front? (kinda like a drag car)
Slash rocks!!!
a guy that runs at my track took his rusler vxl and blitz to the beach and burnt both trucks esc's up. i want take mine now
Driving on the beach is so much fun, but if you have a brushed motor you will want to get an outwears cover fo rit so it doesn't get totally full of sand.

Sounds great! Wish i had a beach near by.
Pfft who needs a E-revo when you can have a slash!
Haha! Not as weird as the looks I've gotten. I have a park by my house, with a baseball feild and a "splash pad" which is the free "waterpark" (not bigger than 20x20 feet) that has water features made for toddlers on hot spring days. So, when I drive my car in the baseball field I walk over to the splash pad and rinse it off when I'm done. You should see the looks I've gotten.
If your running in a lot of sand you should probably take apart and clean all your bearings after EACH run. Usually bearings don't last that long in sand, along with some other parts. Not discouraging you but be prepared for all the maitinance.
