Has anyone noticed this with the traxxas radio

OK, so I ran my stampede with the stock radio from the factory. One, even when trying to adjust endpoints on steering, it just wouldn't get me where I wanted. Two, after recalibrating my esc to my m11, the truck finally felt alive. Truly, I couldn't believe the difference. I felt like I had so much more control over the truck and it had more punch. I don't know, the 2.4ghz traxxas radio is cool, but it needs a graphic display inmho. It is very hard to actually discern where you are in terms of programming.

I think it does a good job. But the steering knob is really touchy. I have to make it barely move to make a mild adjustment. Not a big deal but it gets annoying lol.
So I taped my hamster to the Pede..

I also prefer a professional radio. With these things becoming faster and more powerful every amount of precision counts and my Futaba radio gives me that. But props to traxxas for upgrading to 2.4ghz a huge leap over the 6 frequency 27mhz radio's.
Man i need more than 50 characters.

With a high quality radio like futaba will provide more adjustments and better range and better response but I like the traxxas 2.4 also.

Definitely. I do give props to traxxas for including a 2.4 radio. I also really like the black compared to their old gray.

when I got my MERV this was the EXACT same thing I felt.. I swapped the stock system for my JR FM radios and wow, the truck came alive... so far with the TQ 2.4ghz system on the pede though, I can't say much bad about it.. aside from the lack of digital trims and what not.. but for a stock RTR system it's been great.. extremely good range and ZERO glitches..

I always keep my traxxas 2.4 in my slash 4x4 for bashing and i keep my airtronics in my slash 2wd for racing. I hate the feel of the steering and throttle of the the traxxas radio. there is so much exponential on both. i have the airtronics set with no exponential, and i wont bother to try and figure out the trx radio with its blinks. thats why its a bashing radio.

I love it that Traxxas went to 2.4Ghz, but I think they did it the wrong way. They developed their own goofy standard, instead of using one that was already out there. The traxxas radio is clunky, not comfortable, and not user friendly. I'll likely install a Spektrum RX in this truck and use my DX3R; and use the Traxxas radio for my 2x4 Slash, it came with an AM radio.

I don't know but I love my 2.4ghz radios. I don't like that front plastic "design" that runs from the front top to bottom but that's just an aesthetics thing. As mentioned earlier, I also have had zero glitches and that's great for a first timer as they don't have to make a radio upgrade the very first thing they do. Now, I don't race so take this with a cup of scolding hot tea. Peace and happiness to all!
