just got a mini e-revo, what parts to buy?

    Hi All.
I just got my mini e-revo VXL, and love it.
I'd like to know what you guys think are the parts I need to have spare, plus minor needed hopups.
The ones I have in mind are.
RPM knuckles (are the stock ones bad?)
RPM a arms (whats the problem with stockers? they break?)

    Thanks

The tires and wheels are pretty ok, but I think there are some pretty cool beadlocks on the market as well

RPM arms are ok, they flex and therefore dont break .. my kid has broken lots of stock arms...
So RPM knuckles probably stronger than stock too...

But besides all that.. its a funny little truck and hard to wreck because of relatively low overall weight..

I am fascinated about the electronics, from motor over ESC to servo...

It seems to last good..... only one servo burned in the year and a half or so my kid has tried to kill his MERV in many ways...

The arms are weak , but a cheap way to make sure that nothing more expensive breaks deeper in the truck...

I think this is the 3rd merv upgrades thread in just as many days. Please use the search function and you can probably read thousands of posts on this instead of starting a new thread.

I wouldn't bother upgrading yet the stock arms offer a good combo of strength and lightness and the only reason you'd break them is by driving your MERV straight into a bollard at full speed as 116slashvxl experienced a few days ago

Do what I did, get a set of RPM A-arms and a set of aftermakejet knuckles, on stand bye. Then WHEN you break a stock arm, or knuckle, you already the the replacement upgrade parts so you dont have to wait. Those 2 things I would say are the most important upgrades. Next I would say is wheels and tires. Beadlocks are cool, but there heavier. I personally dont like them, but to each his own, lots of ppl love them.

Not moody just fed up with it. There is so much repetition in here it's ridiculous. How are you supposed to find any good info on a topic if there are hundreds of threads on that topic and they keep showing up almost daily. Do you think you are the first person to wonder what upgrades you should get for a merv?

I agree with So Cold. Maybe there should be a sticky topic with opinions about upgrades.

1 for upgrades, 1 for bodies, 1 for lipos... It would make finding information so much faster

some people dont know how to use the search function it took me like 2 weeks or little more to get use to the search function, sometimes it doesnt find what your looking for, or could be some people are lazy and just want to start a thread but a sticky about upgrades would be good for each section on nitro-electric where people can post upgrades and links if they allow and would do that. back on topic now esc i hear is not the best and some upgrade to Castle max pro esc and replace bulet connectors on motor.

Well along that point it helps when people tag their threads properly too.

So who do we talk to about getting sticky threads set up? My vote would be one per type of car

maybe the mods or even the webmaster. 1 per car/truck would be great. i would vote for that. as i would like to know more of the upgrades people use for the merv,N-4tec,T-Maxx and all them to list upgrades

Gearing would be another one I would like to see. I would get a lot of use right now out of an official gearing thread for the rally

Out of the box, I think the most important upgrades are:

    -RPM arms
-thicker shock oil (I run 60w)
    -2s LIPO's
    -steel hollow balls
    -center diff
    -rpm carriers
    -trx adjustable toe links
    -trx aluminum push rods

If you want more ideas on cool things to try out and modify:

    -rocker bearings to replace bushings
-steering link bearings to replace bushings
-better radio system (made the world of difference running my dx3s)
-big block conversion jk, wear the stocker out first! lol
    -cvd's
-hitec servo (metal gears, more torque)

The list can literally never end with these trucks... you'll love your's no doubt, stock or modified!
